ISU looking Good

I just called my buddy who is a NIU grad and he is livid as to why this dude is still in the game. They apparently have 2 other guys who were in a battle during August camp. "Could they do any worse?" was repeated about 10 times...

He also wants to murder the kicker. I don't think I'll be calling again. He sounded like me during the NW game last year....Yikes. Best to stay away...

SoS is not a component in the BCS calculation.

The computer rankings take everything into account.
Sagarin’s strength of schedule is implicit in his rankings, as each rating output compounds both records of opponents and records of opponents’ opponents

Computer Rankings are 1/3 of the BCS

Northern Illinois looks awful, their QB can't throw past 5 yards. It's tough to tell if Iowa State is this good, or Northern Illinois is this bad. I'm still not that worried about Iowa State.

Either am I. The stuff they are doing on O will not work at all against Iowa. If Arnaud takes off running he will get crushed. The short passing game can be effective against Iowa, but only so far.

I worry about every team. But I agree...I can't really tell if this game is a result of ISU being good or Northern Illinois just being horrible. Probably a little of both.

Doesnt NIU also have 3 new Oline starters? Thats rough when trying to run the ball like they do. Glad the Hawks have a quality QB/passing attack and the Clones cant send 8 to the LOS in a run blitz each down.

Gotta love the NIU coach chewing his players out on the field. Didn't even wait for the locker room

I don't want to overstate it...but NIU was a unanimous pick to win the MAC...and were a bowl team last season. They returned 9 starters to the Mac's best defense as well. They also beat Purdue last year at Purdue and lost to Wiscy by just 8 points in Camp Randall. So they are still a MAC team, but a pretty good one.

Apparently you have a short memory....what killed Iowa against Michigan? Remember the 4th quarter of that game? Iowa ALWAYS has problems defending the zone read....Obviously Iowa's D will be quite a bit better than NIU's....but we're going to have some green LB's and if Arnaud learns to take what the defense gives him....well....the ISU game has me more worried now than it did prior to me watching ISU play.

That happens a lot before people see a team play. But, if you have QB play like this, you will get hammered. This guy is absolutely horrible. NIU was moving the ball on the ground until ISU realized this guy wasn't going to beat you in the air.

Seriously. He had one of the worst D1 first halves I have ever seen. Where ISU should be able to move the ball on Iowa is by the short pass. If they are patient and can stick with that, they can have success. But if Arnaud thinks he can take off running, Iowa will treat him like the last QB who thought he could do that to the Hawks.
