ISU is 6-2

We should dominate inside. Christopherson will go off on us if we don't get a hand in his face...thinking of the Wake kid Tuesday. Christopherson isn't as good at creating his own shot so...

I'm afraid of what their guards will do and I don't know if we have the inside scoring that can exploit their post game. I don't know if we really match up that well with ISU.

You are right about the inside being ISU's Achilles heel...we knew that going into this season. But my question is, who is going to dominate ISU inside? Cole? Brommer? Archie?

I think the best candidate is Cole, but I don't see any of those guys being dominant, like Cal's big guy was to us today. (Unless someone channels his inner Cyrus Tate against ISU!!)

I'm trying not to be too much of a homer here, but this is my hope as a Clone fan. I think if both teams go uptempo, ISU wins because of our guards, and because Iowa doesn't have anyone dominant in the post.

Basabe "could"...but he's been way too inconsistent to predict that he "will"...and if Cole were 6'9" instead of 6'5" I'd like to see what he could do...but...he's not...

Should be a good game since it's at CHA, but I'm not going to call for an Iowa win, unless they dominate UNI and I start chuggin' the Kool-Aid...more...

Basabe tends to disappear, much like Melvin Ejim. Expected for freshman, so I don't see either of those guys being a huge factor, but you never know.

I really have liked Cole since he has been at Iowa. I remember him as a freshman, thinking, "Wow, that guy will be a beast as a senior!" But, he hasn't really developed like I thought he would, maybe due to his knee.

I still think it will be a close game at CHA with Iowa winning.

I'm not expecting 1 guy to dominate inside...didn't mean to suggest 1 guy would. I think Iowa collectively is better than ISU insides. I think collectively Iowa will outrebound and outscore ISU inside which will more than offset ISU's advantage outside. Also, Gatens will find his stroke and go off from long range sooner rather than later against someone...I suspect. If Gatens can just get back to normal the outside game will most likely be a wash IMO. Of course they actually play the games for a reason. I'll have much better idea of how it all goes next Saturday!

I dont think Iowa is ready to dominate anyone other than SIU-E. Will not be surprised whomever wins the game.

I agree with this. Virtually everyone we play will have the advantage inside, even those teams with Andrew Brommer on them. :p

I have a feeling that Gatens regains his stroke against the Clones. If he doesn't, and the Clones can find interior defense, Clones win. That's a big question mark, though.

I think Iowa will have trouble guarding JVB outside, though. You will need a mobile post guy to do this, and I don't see one. Who do you guys think will guard JVB?? Maybe McCabe?

Agreed. I won't be surprised on who wins but I would be surprised if one team won by more than 10.

It's hard to explain, but I can see ISU blowing Iowa out if they are hot and allowed to fast break. I don't see Iowa able to blowout ISU, though. Yet I think the Hawks can easily win. Tough game to figure out right now.

I would put Marble on JVB when Marble is in the game. They could go with May hoping he gets some steals to offset the size disadvantage.

A week ago I would have given Iowa no chance vs. ISU. Disappointd how ISU looked against UNI. Iowa may have a chance. Hawk fan 1st and then pull for whoever has potential to be good of other 3 in state schools. I was hoping ISU would be UNI. Phelps at Drakes looks lost.

CyChamp - I think you might be onto something with Gatens... I think he won't be in a brace anymore and just tape his hand.

This will be a big opportunity for Basabe as noted but we can't count on him. We can count on Christopherson exploiting our defensive lapses though.

Both teams are not consistent enough and I honestly could see Iowa winning or ISU winning easily if their guards get on. I know I'm really going out on a limb here.

I can see a double digit margin if one of the teams is as cold as I 've seen both be while the other is hot. I do expect a close game though with an Iowa win.

If someone wearing the black and gold and have a Cyrus Tate type of day the hawks have a good chance.
