Is Nate Stanley The Next John Elway?

Ben ran a 4.75 40 at the combine. Age and injuries have made him look like a Wookie on Xanax. I would bet Stanley is running in 4.7-4.9 range right now.

People forget Ben had offers to play lower level D-1 basketball. He is a pretty good athlete, he has just been lazy about taking care of his body.
Let's just hope that, in 15 years, "Stanley" isn't found on Urban Dictionary because of Nate.

He’s not Russell Wilson by any means, but he’s nowhere near as slow as Roethlisberger.

Roethlisbeger avoids a lot of sacks but he does it because of size and strength. He looks and moves like a Wookie on Xanax.

Stanley, while slowish, would eat Ben’s lunch in speed drills during his prime.

fryowa, i just happened to watch Roethlisberger in the bowl game he played as a SR and i hoped like hell the Steelers would pick him up. the reason? i saw him on a scramble from side to side and throw a strike, on the run, for a touchdown. Big Ben didn't used to be a statue and was quite agile. he's lost his knees and he's pushing 40. Stanley isn't nearly the scrambler Ben was, even if, Stanley has more straight line speed.

some of his highlights in college. the last play is similar to what i was describing above.

as a Steelers fan, yes, Big Ben. up until Elway blew out his knees, he was actually really mobile and some good running and scrambling abilities.

Correct as a defensive player Elway was not the QB you wanted to be chasing out in the open. A few injuries and age took their toll on his speed and elusiveness.

I loved how our defense made him look like a very over rated QB. Norm really figured their offense out and made them look putrid.
