Is Jok a starter by year end?

Okay, well let's operate under the assumption that Gesell wouldn't average 40 mpg, if Clemmons weren't on the team, and would have to sit at some point. Who is Clemmons taking minutes from in that scenario? Oglesby?

FTR, Gesell shot 37% in conference play, so it's not like he was significantly better than Clemmons. Better, yes, but not so much better that it's a travesty to give Clemmons significant minutes.

This is what I am talking about. Yes MG is the better shooter but by OLWPAORWWM saying Clemmons is not a good shooter then you are saying Iowa didnt have any good shooters. That 4% is not the difference between good and bad. Nobody shot good last year(Basabe was pretty clutch though).

I agree.

Just take it easy on that strawman, you might need him later.

Gessell lost the ball quite a bit and a few times with terrible timing. Clemmons can take it to the hoop and handles the ball well. They both bring positives that will pay dividends.

I have not seen Jok play much yet. Is there any report on his ability to handle the basketball?? At times I worry about this teams ball handling but I might just be looking for somthing. Love the height and the ability to rebound the ball. Love Love Love rebounds.

I'm pretty sure I read in one of Fran's interviews that Jok could play the point...won't because we're pretty stacked at the point. I think he was just making a comment about Jok's overall skill set...and he's a decent ball handler IMO.

Who starts means little...people that think the best players always start need to look at James harden when he was with the thunder (IMO he was the 2nd best on the team) or ginobli (sp?) during the spurs prime.

the answer is no he won't start this year he will next year though.

uthoff is the guy I see becoming a starter as he is more of a true three than white is. Allowing white to play his natural stretch 4.

jok's playing time will be determined if he is more useful than ogelsby at the two and/or more useful than McCabe at the 3 (I think he will be a 3/4 combo this year, hopefully he cuts weight for defensive reasons).
