Is it the same guy?

Is the guy returning the opening kick for Miami OH (vs. BGSU) tonight the same DeMarco Paine that Iowa had on their roster a couple years ago?

/random

Was feeding my son when I posted, so didn't have time to look. After reviewing the Redhawk roster, it is indeed the same guy.

So this conversation with myself can be deleted! :)

You're doing a great job. Keep it up.

Anything else you'd like to discuss amongst yourself?

Sure, why not?

Miami (OH)'s QB is really dumb stretching out for the end zone like that...they'll be lucky if they retain that ball (and the TD).

BGSU's coaching staff need to have a Paki-style talk with their Qb after that last series. Run straight, pick up a first down; try to go around the defender, get tackled a yard short. Didn't help that the next play their punter gets murdered and Miami gets the ball in the red zone.

Ugh...halftime guy (not Trevor Matich) just said "Just look at this weekend's game in the SEC and realize why they are the best conference in America..." Yep, that'll do it...

Bleh.

I actually think it would be hilarious if you continued for like 3 pages just talking amongst yourself.

hawkfan2679's memoir thread!!

If participating in the chat requires watching that game, good chance you will have it all to yourself. Go for it! Stream of consciousness run amok!

I had to put my son to sleep, so I haven't been watching much of the football game...so my memoir is currently on hold.

Also, if I'm having a discussion with myself, is "amongst" the best word to use? ::shrug::

I did just hear that someone scored a touchdown recently...

These MAC games were a little more fun when both teams ran spread and I'd actually look for little nuances I could use on my own teams. BGSU looks like they are really badly trying to imitate Iowa's offense...

BGSU just brought themselves within a score with a 77 yard TD pass! Awesome!!11!

Looks like a fog bowl too...all 23 people who are there probably can't make out the action on the field very well.

I thought the sarcasm was implied...

I'll stop interrupting your thread now

LOL, nothing wrong with talking to yourself on here. There's only a problem if you start arguing with yourself. :D

Don't look now (not that you could see through the fog even if you did) but we've got a ballgame! All tied up at 21!

Not only is Paine a starter on Miami's O ... but Jason Semmes is one of their starting DEs.

Did not pick up on that...good spot.

Television broadcasting of games with such dense fog is comical...not that there is anything they can do, but aren't the broadcasters a lot of times going off the monitors they have in front of them?

Off-topic - I was reviewing the NCAA rule book the other day (as I'm one to do :)) and I came across a passage that contradicted a ruling in the Iowa/Indiana game from this past weekend.

Offensive Team Requirements
ARTICLE 3. The offensive team requirements are as follows:
a. After the ball is ready for play and before the ball is snapped:
1. (a) The snapper, after assuming his position for the succeeding snap
and touching or simulating (hand at or below his knees)
touching the ball, may not move to a different position.
(b) The snapper may not lift the ball, move it beyond the neutral zone
or simulate the start of a play.
(c) The snapper may take his hand(s) off the ball if it does not
simulate the start of a play.

Didn't Ferentz get called for this during that craptacular trip to the red zone where we got a delay of game, then a penalty, then ended up throwing a swing pass to Morse?
