Is Fridays game with ISU the biggest in Frans tenure at Iowa

Maybe Its certainly huge. Beat ISU and Iowa's tournament hopes really take a big jump. Follow with a win over UNI and a 500 Big Ten record will get us there. Lose the game and all of a sudden the North Carolina game looks a bit different. That was not a good team we beat on that day even though it was NC on the road. At the end of the year they may not be a tournament team if they play and shoot like they did against us

Friday is huge. Iowa State is a very good team. Maybe the best in the Big 12. Right up there with Texas and Kansas. Great athletes and they can shoot especially at Hilton. That's the key for Friday. if Clones shoot anywhere near the way they did against Arkansas it will be tough to beat them. On the other hand if they shoot like they did against Maryland we could come out on top. Some teams just don't shoot well on the road. (Duke excluded) At the same time we have to step it up. Probably the one consistent negative theme with Iowa so far is that we didnt shoot well and we will shoot our way out of the slump. Friday would be a good time to do that.

Lurking is UNI. A very good team full of Iowa players that no major programs wanted.

Making the tournament is really big for Fran's program and Friday may be the biggest part of achieving. Should be a great game

He's had a lot of games where you could think it was the most important before the game. Once the game is in the rear view mirror it's never as important as it seemed at the time. If we win, we can deminish the importance by losing games we shouldn't down the road. If we lose we can deminish the importance by winning games we shouldn't later.

One thing's for sure, it will greatly increase our chance at the tourney if we win. It's a must that Uthoff and Gesell are on.

NCAA game against Tennessee was Fran's biggest game at Iowa and we lost it. No other single game makes or breaks your season in college BB like the NCAA tournament games.

I have to agree. The tournament has been the end-game for a long time coming. It seemed, though, that there were major distractions with White and Marble at the end of last year. I believe those won't resurface this year -- but will we have enough guys contributing at the level we need them to to get to the Tournament again AND win games?

It is a huge game because we have 2 more chances to get quality wins in the non-con; ISU & UNI. Need a split at worst.

ISU has superior players, athletes and shooters so this is going to be a real challenge.

Agree with your first line. A top 25 win is huge come March.
Disagree with your 2nd line....heck why don't we just throw in the towel right now? The game is at Carver, not laying down. Lets kick their ***.

I have a gut feeling that we will be very surprised at how easily the Hawks win this game. They found their toughness at UNC and I don't think they'll be an easy out for anyone going forward.

No. This is not that big of a deal. Home game, so we'll win. Will help our chances to make it to the Tourney if we pound the snot out of them. They play weak on the road. Go hawks!

You nailed your UNC prediction, I have a feeling you'll be right on this one too. Even dumb Clone trolls get it right once in a while.

FIFY. Play-in games are especially crucial because then everyone isn't going around the next year making fun of you for thinking you were in the tournament when really it was a play in game and you weren't in the actual tournament.

Clown trolls are predictable.....next you will brag about your #SuperBowl and how awesomez you were in da football games

Wow, this pretty much nailed it. Chance to get to the Tourney and EPIC FAIL.
