Ironically, the last time we played at Pitt, did we not have a QB controversy brewing

That was the Stanzi great half, then replaced by Jake the Snake and you know the rest of the game was it not?

I wonder if we will see this play out again?

My guess Jake starts and we get into so much of a deep hole before CJ gets into the game. It will either end with him getting a couple scores and making the score look respectable, or he makes a mistake or two only to reconfirm what Ferentz thinks and Jake starts at Purdue and plays the whole game unless he gets hurt.

An interesting coincidence maybe, but I would not call it ironic.

Irony would be expecting a QB controversy similar to 2008 and instead have the issue settled by the Pitt game.

Stanzi helped the season turn around, but Shonn Greene was the running back and we all know how that turned out. Shonn Greene isn't walking thru the doors anytime soon. CJ may help the offense stretch the field, but that 2008 team would beat this current team by double digits. We call it a QB controversy as fans but i don't think Ferentz has any plans to pull Jake anytime soon. We are stuck watching sideways football. YIPEE

No. The last time we played Pitt we also had a terrible QB that Kurt was in love with

We also had a program in turmoil with:
- the disappointment in 2005
- collapse in 2006
- losing to a 4-7 Western Michigan, at home, with a bowl game on the line in 2007.
At least in 2008, we beat Maine 46-3, FIU 42-0 and beat Iowa State.

This is worse, coming off a horrible 2012 season, catching lightning in a bottle the last 6 quarters of the regular season in 2013.
The Big Ten is the worst in my lifetime, and barely beating Northern Iowa, Ball State, and losing to another bad Iowa State team.
