Iowa's Nick Moore named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week

Well deserved, that was a huge match. He almost majored a higher ranked wrestler at his place to win the meet. Great match for Moore.
 
made him look like a JV wrestler impressive match for sure. hoping this gives him confidence heading into big tens and ncaa's
 
Cody Yohn is not consistent. You never know how he's going to compete. Recall last year Evans pinned him and then Cody beat him at national duals. Glad to see Moore get the victory.
 
Do u guys see him carrying this through to nationals or was it just Yohn being... well Yohn? I'd love to see another Iowa grown kid on our team turn it up. Sensational performance.
 
I'm still not sure what to expect from Moore. I want to believe but I'm skeered to throw my heart out there and get it crushed, emotionally speaking. Right now I'm expecting a R12 kind of national tourney, but if he keeps improving he could definitely make AA. Here is his record versus ranked opponents (ranking at time of competition):

Win over #17 Hess from Lehigh
Loss to #16 Lear of Bucknell
Loss to #11 Lewandowski of Buffalo
Loss to #3 Caldwell of Okie State
Win over #10 Yohn of Minnesota

He has yet to face Taylor, Polz, and Greisheimer from Edinboro. I don't expect him to beat Taylor, but he needs the other two for seeding and confidence.

Pin you saying he'll be an all american and not to wrestle him against DT? I think if he can wrestle with the swagger and confidence he did on saturday he could, but I do agree with AF it's a long shot. Giving up that reversal with what 10 seconds left almost made me vomit. I'm optimistic though, hope he can carry that confidence into and after the PSU match. A moral victory would be great for him and set the bench. He's got the talent as he showed in HS, gotta get his head going in full gear.
