***Iowa's NCAA Seed prediction thread***

^^^^not after yesterday's debacle ^^^^

Just as a joke let's make em a 1 so the 16 seed can knock'em out, shall we?

Much like two years ago...I think the committee is going to punish us for the collapse (rightfully so) we are a play in game for 8 or 9 seed.

it doesn't matter...we're going down...coaches have lost the team yet again. Listen to them talk, they're all like "we don't know what's wrong"

From what I understand the committee has stop taking the last 10 game trend into consideration. So I don't see them dropping. Just like last year they did not drop after the pedo state game. The road wins at MSU, Purdont, and Michigan are going to help them a lot.

Friday morning projections have Iowa as a 6 seed. Interesting note; lunardi has Iowa, Iowa state and UNI playing in Denver. Wonder what that will mean for Des Moines attendance.

Last year wasn't Iowa predicted as a 7 seed before the big 10 tournament too? That is where they ended up. The pedo state game did not affect it. In Iowa's last sweet 16 run they got upset in the first round too. I don't think today hurts this team that much. They were predicted as 5 or 6 before I don't see that changing. They still have a lot of very high quality wins and that makes a bigger impact on the committee than conference tournament upsets.

That was 1999. Iowa was a 5 seed and got beat by 4th seeded Wisconsin in the quarterfinals.

Classic, Iowa vs Gonzaga, wtf?
UNI vs Purdue
ISU vs Akron

I see Lunardi has them a 6 in the Midwest playing Gonzaga. If Iowa somehow gets itself in the Midwest region they're getting far more than they deserve.

Only by the ignorant.

Just because some uninformed fans and a few media people call them play in games doesn't make it so.

The games are what they are, regardless of what they've been officially dubbed.

Whether you want to call them an opening round, or play in games, doesn't change their meaning.

By the way, the round of 64 is officially called the "first round" again. This 2nd & 3rd round stuff is in the past.

If we get a 6 or 7 seed then it is further evidence just how bad college basketball has gotten. Sure we were a senior laden team, but let's face it very few seniors stick around to be seniors if they have game for the next level.

Doesn't mean anything for DM. It means Lunardi is coo-coo.

Now Lunardi has Iowa as a 6 against Pitt or Vandy in St. Louis. Would much rather have this. I would much rather play a bad power 5 team than a little school that's 27-4 and a 11 or 12 seed. Those teams would rock Iowa. Losing to a P5 school wouldn't even be noticed and Iowa could slip into the offseason.

However, Iowa will win either way. They have won against teams better than Pitt or 11/12 seed level teams this year. A lot of the players on this team blew out Dickenson last year too.

Stop with the stupid talk. Iowa gets a 6 or 7 on the body of work this season Skinny has absolutely nothing to do with the finish. The Finish did sucked but Iowa has a great resume whether you like to admit it or not.
