OK, admittedly, I blew my preseason picks. I thought Iowa would go 10-3 in non-conf and they ended up a disappointing 6-7. The two losses to start the season really caught me off-guard. Miller's prediction of between 6 and 8 wins in non-conf. was dead-on.

That said, I am interested to see what you guys think will happen the rest of the conference slate.

Iowa is sitting 3-10 in conference.
Jon predicted 3-15.
I predicted 7-11.

Do you think Iowa has a surge in them to end up close to my prediction or do they only have maybe 1 win left, finishing closer to Jon's prediction?
Or does Iowa finish with 5 for a draw?

Iowa gets Indiana and Michigan at home.
They have to go on the road to play Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Northwestern.

If they can beat UM at home (huge task esp with Sims), it might spark them to take out NW on the road before getting Indiana at home. Wishful thinking, I am sure.

Thoughts?

I was never going to bring up your overall season predictions again. This is an example of you intentionally choosing to play in traffic ;)

Indiana is a win. It all comes down to whether or not Sims has the flu on Tuesday for Spank to get the draw

And I appreciate it.

I'm not one to shy away when I get owned on something.
I sucked it up on the preseason stuff. I thought Iowa would be better than they've shown. Fuller getting hurt early sucked, Tucker's thing sucked too. Just one of those things.

I did redeem myself on the in-season predictions, so that saved me a little face... but, yeah, I blew it. I'll admit it. What do you do?

Technically, Spank should win if Iowa wins one more game, as Jon would be over. If The Price is Right has taught any of us anything, it's that you can't go over.

In Price is Right if the package is $4000 dollars, then a guess of $3000 dollars wins vs. a guess of $7000 because it's under. Even $4001 would be a loser.

So Jon's guess of 3 is under four. Stormin would be 'over' with 7 wins.

i probably shouldn't bet on the hawks to win in the barn, but that minnesota team is in a shambles right now. they choked away a must-win at northwestern today and tubby is openly questioning their effort (he has also said repeatedly in the media: "i need to recruit better players than what we have"... kind of a kick to the groin of his current roster). if iowa can come in focused and hungry for that game i think they have a good shot to win.

I can't really remember but did you get alot of crap for the predictions?

See what happens when your heart gets in the way of what your head should be saying, Spank? :)

I wish you would be the winner of this, but, it was pretty obvious preseason that you had no chance.

One thing I know, Jon is usually not too far off the beaten path.

If I had to do my Big Ten predictions again, I would keep them right about where they are even after seeing this team this season. 7 wins isn't that far off.

And as far as the non-conf. - did anyone honestly expect Iowa to drop the first two? I thought Duquesne would be tough, but Iowa would pull it out. The UTSA one is still a head scratcher to me.

Saying Lickliter might be in the runnings for the BTCOTY was silly and was from the heart. The predictions, though, were using my head... just didn't get the W's were I thought Iowa would. I swung and missed, but I don't think it was because of homerism. I thought Iowa would be right around a .500 club this year... didn't happen.

Not out of the chute.
The crap came when Iowa was sitting 2-5 overall, then it all started coming out, which is fine. That's all a part of predictions - you make your bed and have to lie in it.
