Iowa Women vs South Dakota

The women play Saturday at 3:00. We saw today the potential they have. What great a 3rd quarter to bury SW Mo. St. We know how good Ally, Megan, and Kathleen are (All Conference honors), but Christine Buttenham returned today and played solid. Hannah Stewart had her best game and Bre Cera and Amanda Ollinger played with more confidence and showed how athletic they are - Bre was especially good on defense. I think they had one turnover in the 3rd quarter and flashed great teamwork. That's the team Coach Bluder's been waiting for all year. South Dakota is a 3 point shooting team with 4 players better than 40% from 3. When teams shut that down they lose. We'll need that good perimeter defense and our depth. South Dakota only goes about 7 deep and their best scorer is the younger Arens sister with 16 mpg average. They start 3 Seniors and 2 sophomores. It would be nice for Iowa to knock out both Coyote teams - Men's and Womens'.

Hagarwood your post is spot on! I was so impressed with Kathleen Doyle's tenacious defense tonight. It's hard to believe she's only a freshman. Run those coyotes out of Carver! Go Hawks!
