IOWA WINS-Pitt loses game thread.

that was an amazing kick but kudos to the holder also, that was a bad snap. he did a great job to get the ball down
 
Iowa State has a lot of raw talent, but since they're Iowa State they can't seem to escape the black cloud of Iowa-State-ness that follows them around.

I think winning by three touch downs is fun too. Offensive line has some work to do. CJ took some tough hits. That needs to be shored up. Defensive coordinator can stick that prevent defense somewhere where the sun don't shine.

Did you see Kirks reaction to the field goal? He knows this game should never have come down to that field goal. Glad we won but some concerns in this game. I will never understand not pressuring their QB late in the game. I believe their QB is just a freshman. So if we would have blitzed and a big play happens at least you try. Seven guys back on defense and you allow a first down on fourth and fifteen???

Dont get me wrong I was jumping up and down when he hit that field goal but is was a typical KF win. Get conservative with play calling until you HAVE TO move the ball. How ****** would everyone have been if we lost this game in overtime? Just because we won doesn't excuse conservative play calling from both coordinators on the last possession before the final drive and Pitts last offensive possession.

i will celebrate the win but also express some unhappiness over some of the coaching. This game was closer than it needs to be.

Fair points. But we beat a pretty good team having a punt blocked for a TD and basically a pick 6 against us. Def basically gave up 10. Plenty to work on but not too shabby.

That game was close due to the blocked punt and INT. Aside from those two plays, we were great. Many other Iowa teams would have folded. Jake would have lost that game by three TDs.

There are always things to improve on even after a victory. So good points. If you think coach is content with his teams play I can promise you he is already critiquing his team, himself and his staff....he is happy with the win but already thinking about what we didn't do right. Give the staff credit for looking on the mirror and making changes...are they perfect...nope. did they just beat a good pitt team that had a great scheme on defense with great athletes? You are damn right they did. Enjoy the victory sir...sMell the roses! Congrats to you and all hawkeye nation on a satisfying victory!
