It will be interesting to see how this is carried out. Will this be done before the team is on the field? Just the thought of "Hawkeye" laying by Jon's casket, chokes me up...imagine being jacked up to play and having an emotional moment, as this will surely be? I don't want this to backfire, and be a downer for the players.

That said, I would love to see "Hawkeye" lead the Swarm. There will be tears shed in Kinnick that Saturday.

As long as Jon and rest of the fallen soldiers are honored, that should be good enough.

I am just worried about Hawkeye being able to react ok in front of Kinnick. I'm sure Scott would lead him out and it would be ok, just get worried about a dog out there.

Regardless, it's awesome. Kudos to the U of I for doing this.

I agree completely that this should occur on Nov 12 ,around Veterans Day.
Doing anything this month is too soon if Jon's family is going to be involved in any way,imo. Honor them all,as they are all heroes.
