Iowa will be only team next season without a QB with any game experience

Every team in the conference returns 1 or more QBs with some game experience. Iowa will be only team starting a QB with no game experience next season.

Is the seaon over and someone forgot to tell me? Sheesh ... here I was thinking we had games left. :)

It's ok, as long as we execute better than the other team, even if they know exactly what we are doing, we will be fine.

You forgot we have a juco QB with experience. Only reason I can think for JR not to get snaps is so there won't be competition on the field next year either.

So, it's popular to refer to our second elected safety in the 2004 6-4 win at PSU as the "F.U. safety." I now predict we see an "F.U. backup QB series" now against Nebraska. Rudock comes in for two handoffs and screen pass.

so what about not taking snaps, Stanzi never took a snap and had a 9-4 season

And the repercussions were a 3 and 3 start. I'm not saying he should have taken snaps in 07 but between him having no experience and an unnecessary QB battle, we lost out on a potentially great season.

Stanzi played vs. Syracuse in 2007. It may not have been much, but it frames the whole offseason's worth of workouts by the QB having seen D1 game speed. We also won't have Shonn Greene and the 2008 defense next year. Stanzi always threw a good ball and had moxie, but I shudder to think even of him as a soph running GD's timing/option-route-based offense.

Yeah, when the score is about 49-3 it could happen.

Clatborn was a RSFR in 2008, Klug was a RSFR in 2008, Ballard was a True freshman in 2008, how am i WRONG ABOUT THAT, as a RB we will have Weisman w3ho had 661 yards in 4 games before getting hurt

In 2008:

* Clayborn was a RS Sophomore
* Klug was a RS Sophomore
* Ballard was a true Sophomore

you just can't stand the facts can you trying to judge young kids off of a finished product
face it that team started out with 2 RSFR AND 1 TRUE FR on the DL

Haha...everybody laugh at herby.

You were wrong in saying that Stanzi had never taken a snap before the Hawks went 9-4 in 2008. This box score proves otherwise.

Syracuse Orange vs. Iowa Hawkeyes - Box Score - September 08, 2007 - ESPN

You are also wrong in the post I quoted. Clayborn, Klug and Ballard were all sophomores in 2008. You are always wrong.

THE 2008 TEAM DID NOT.

GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT.

They had 2 seniors at DT (King and Kroul) and 2 sophomores at DE (Clayborn and Ballard).

Klug was a 2* LB recruit who moved to DT
got the year classes mixed up Claybourne and Klug were 2006 recruits and keep forgetting the play or RS that same year, and Ballard was a 2007 recruit, but nobody knew how they would finish right now these kids are just getting started and the biggest thing they have in common Ballard and Claybourne were 4* recruits.
Cooper who is playing as a backup is RSFR 4* DT
joining him will be a pair of 4*'s in RSFR Johnson and Ekakitie,Klugs replacement appears to be 3* LTP
not a bad start to the DL
3* RSSR starting his 3rd year Alvis at DE
3* RSSO starting his 2nd year LTP DT
4* RSSO playing his 2nd season Cooper at DT
3* RSSO playing his 2nd season Spears at DE
with possible backups 4* RSFR Ekakitie SDE, 4* RSFR Johnson DT, 3* RSSO McMinn WDE, true SO Ott SDE
then you have RSJR Davis as a 9th man on the DL
