Iowa, Washington wins most impressive

An unranked Iowa team missing its all-time leading receiver defeats #12 Missouri.

Unranked Washington blows out #17 Nebraska.

These two performances were the most impressive of the bowl season, IMO.

I'd say TCU's against Wisconsin was pretty impressive. I don't care if they were the higher rated team. They stood up to Wisconsin pretty good as I thought the Badgers would roll over them like a steam roller with that huge offensive line. Didn't happen.

I don't say this often, but after looking at the stat line and watching that Rose Bowl game, I'm glad we have Ken O'Keefe. The situational play calling and abandoning of the run by WI was criminal. Absolutely criminal, they should have won that game by two 2 TDs.

Agreed. Why did Wisconsin abandon their power running game? Why didn't they play Clay more?

I think Bielema struggled a little bit in primetime.

Agree, this is the most impressive to me. TCU was to get steamrolled by Wisconsin and Wisconsin had success on the ground, but it wasn't easy. TCU got a shot at an AQ conference champ and stood up and beat them. It is sad to think that there is no playoff and we will never know who truly is the best team in the nation when there will be two undefeateds at the end of the season. The non-AQ teams have lost two games in the BCS with one being last year when BSU/TCU matched up, the other being the poor Hawaii team that got steamrolled by Georgia. TCU is too classy to publicly say anything, but didn't TCU beat the team that beat Ohio State, whose president said those teams don't belong? By the way, TCU would beat Ohio State on any playing field as well, they have the record they have because they are a darn good football team. Give all the accolades to TCU they did what they weren't supposed to. How many people pubbed this Wisconsin team as the ones playing the best at the end of the season? I cannot wait to see how TCU capitalizes on this win in recruiting for the next couple seasons before they go into the Big East, they are a sleeping giant and are not going away, the Dallas Metroplex area players should begin flocking to them since they are moving to the Big East.

Agree with the OP, I do not see TCU's win as an upset. How can you call it an upset when they are ranked the number 3 team in the country and Wisconsin was the numbre 5 team. That being said, I also agree with the poster above, Wisconsin screwed up when they went away from the run. TCU was wearing down, but by passing Wisconsin played into TCU's hands. TCU is a good team, but IMO they lose two out of three against Wisconsin.

Wisconsin = wis-con-sin = wis, as in ****** this one away - con, as in their Offensive Coordinator and Beliema should be put behind bars - sin, as in committed a cardinal sin by not sticking with their game plan...

The Washington over Nebraska win was not impressive, Nebraska didn't show up and Martinez was still hurt.
Iowa beating Missouri is not that impressive, the Big 12 is not good and Iowa should have beat them anyway, they are a better team, they lost some close games they shouldn't have, but that is the way it works. Figure this out, the defense let them down in all their losses late in games, but finally made a play that they should have made, not impressive.

I would pick TCU everytime over Wisconsin. Wisconsin got forced to pass, TCU beat them up most of the 2nd half until the last drive and took Wisconsin out of their game. No other team was able to do that to the Badgers, also TCU moved up the field and if not for some poor choices on third down should have scored two more touchdowns. Nobody gave TCU a chance, it doesn't matter if they were the higher rated team, they were not supposed to win.

Iowa was impressive all things considered.

Washington wasn't. Nebraska couldn't have cared less about that game and it showed. Unforgivable and obvious.

I agree. Mizzou was way over-rated and yesterday showed that the Big Ten is terrible in football.

Mizzou was overated?

They punked Oklahoma and they have a top 10 draft prospect at QB.

Mizzou wasn't overrated. Iowa just finally decided to kind of show up.

Mizzou is a damn good football team. You don't beat a very good Oklahoma team because your no good. I think we can all agree that Iowa was really a 10 and 2 / 9 and 3 football team this year, talent wise at least. The Insight got a great matchup for their bowl. Iowa finally showed it's talent again.

Everyone is completely over reacting to the losses by the big ten yesterday.

Everyone knows Michigan sucks, doesn't play defense and is a cakewalk if you stop Drob. Northwestern didn't stand a chance without Persa and they ended up losing by 7. Michigan state was completely overmatched, Alabama is a top 5 team in the country and Mich St is 4th best in the big Ten. Florida needed 5 picks against to beat PSU.

The big ten got whopped yesterday, there's no denying that, but It doesn't make the conference terrible.

Just my opinion.

The Washington win was impressive. It wasn't just about Nebraska not showing up; Washington was physical on both sides of the ball, a dramatic turnaround from the first game (and from most of their games this year). A turning point for their program under Sarkisian. RB Chris Polk ran tough, and Jake Locker's game management and running ability impressed despite lousy passing numbers. His receiving corps is horrible, nobody's been open all year and when they do get open they drop the pass. He's got an elite arm and legs, and unlike Vince Young a brain and work ethic to match, so will still be among the top 5 QB's picked in the draft and should do well in the league

Missouri lost to a Nebraska team that didn't show up for their bowl.
Oklahoma was lucky to play UConn, any other BCS team would beat them down. Oklahoma is only in the BCS because Texas A&M peed their game against Oklahoma State down their leg with a QB that turned the ball over six times himself in that game. Oklahoma was not the best team in the Big 12, but won the games they needed too.
Just because they have a top 10 draft pick doesn't make them for real, see: Eli Manning (Ole Miss), Phillip Rivers (NC State), Jake Locker (Washington), Ryan Mallet (Arkansas), Daunte Culpepper (UCF) and others. Having Gabbert means that Mizzou had a good QB, that is it.
The Big 12 as a whole has proven over and over again in bowl games that they aren't that good. Mizzou was overrated and Iowa's sad defense made a play they didn't in 5 other games....whoop dee do.
Saying Iowa finally showed up is something that boggles me, so what did they do during the season, it isn't like they lost big in any games. Obviously, the Minn and NW games were embarassing and inexcusable, but losses happen.

Give credit to TCU they showed up and were able to make adjustments in the second half and were very smart with the football. They ran like 30 plays on offense and made every one of them count. TCU win is tops in my book. then Washington and Then Iowa.....

There are a lot of them, just depends on the perspective and I do like the TCU win the most, but what about Army, UCF, USF and Florida State? I don't believe any of those teams were supposed to win, but hey they played their games and won.
