I think we play it close the first half, probably even take a 8 point lead at one point. MSU will go on a 12-2 run to end the half.
Second half MSU will blow it open. Iowa will go on one of its famous "Iowa has not had a made FG in the last 8 minutes" stretches...and could get ugly.
I hope I am wrong...

I think Fran is going to challenge them to play tough, because they were kicked in the balls in East Lansing.
I think he is going to play a deep rotation and use the deeper parts of the bench as thugs.
I think he is going to demand pushed tempo.

I hope you are right about the bolded part. I'd like to see the team come out with a chip on its shoulder, and I think it will. Question will be whether they can maintain it for 40 minutes. Tough game. Against my better judgment: Iowa 71-69

Also, I am hoping beyond hope that we don't get fast Eddie Hightower for this game. If we do, then my prediction changes: MSU 80-62
it seems to me that the last half of the season, when iowa had games in close to one another that they played better and better as apposed to when they had 4 or more days break between games they seemed to play as though they had never played the game. so if my thoughts are correct, iowa plays out of their minds today and keep it close maybe even winning this game.

I think the Hawks can play it close with Dawson out for Sparty. I predict 73-71, Iowa with the win and at least one chair slam

I think Fran really have the team focused today. I think Iowa gets the pushed tempo but cant over come jitters and only shots 38%. Iowa cant overcome the talent of MSU and lose by 15.
Now what happens in my unicorn dreamland
Iowa come in ready to play and make up for the embarrassment in East Lansing. The Gator goes off for 30, Aaron has a double/double and Mel has a block total of 10, and Marble wakes up from his nap and goes off for 24. Hawkeyes take down MSU they get on the bubble for the dance due to beating 5 top 25 programs this year.

Gatens only logged 28 minutes in East Lansing.
I have no idea what to expect in this one.
Have to put a body on Nix - he might be too big for Iowa's frontcourt to deal with, esp if they focus on Day Day.
Need to have a near perfect day - limit turnovers, hit the open shots, need to get out and run but stay under control. Guard play will be HUGE in this one. Iowa's has been better as of late, MSU no so much.
I can see Iowa winning, but it's going to take a huge effort and some things to fall Iowa's way.

If Iowa wins I think you will see no chairs will be harmed in the making of the Victory.
They might slam some chairs in the locker room in celebration, but they will be stunt chairs.

I think this game may be closer than some expect. Iowa has nothing to lose at this point; playing on a nuetral court; coming off a confidence-building win ... I think Fran has them ready to go. Tourney time ... ANYYYYTHING ... can happen ...
