133: Ramos dec 7-0
141: Ballweg dec 10-0
149: Ness dec 10-3
157: DSJ maj 14-3
165: Yohn dec 14-6
174: Storley dec 14-9 * This match determines the dual *
184: Steinhouse dec 14-12

HWT: Nelson dec 14-18

Iowa: 14
Minn: 18

I'm more of a fan then an expert...........but I'm excited for Moore and Burak this weekend.

They've both improved since the start of the season and you just never know..............

125: McD by dec. He hasn't been able to get bonus points against subpar/decent opponents
133: Ramos by dec
141: Ballweg by dec. I feel he's really underrated.
149: Ness by dec if wrestling Kelly, Ness by major if wrestling Grothus
157: DSJ by dec. Like McD he's had trouble with bonus points
165: Moore by dec. Yohn is decent but by no means great. Nick has been making huge strides.
174: Storley by dec. Evans can get him but he'll have to attack more than he did against Perry to give himself a chance.
184: Steinhaus by dec.
197: Schiller by dec, although I think Burak is entirely capable of winning this one
Hwt: Nelson by decision assuming Telford is wrestling

Final: 18-18 Iowa wins by criteria

Well I typed in my predictions and it wouldn't post, I'm thinking 19-14 Hawks. Kind of a homer prediction, but Minny looked horrid vs Illinois.

You've got some type of fuzzy math going on here. Which criteria are they going to win by?

125: MCD hasn't been putting up the big points it seems and don't think he will do it up in Minnesota against Thorn. Thorn is outmatched here but MCD just pulls out a dec.

Iowa 3-0

133: Ramos is on a tear but don't see him going up to Minnesota and putting up big points againsts Dardenes. Dardenes is a tough wrestler and this one could go down to the wire. I think Ramos squeaks one out.

Iowa 6-0

141: Ballweg impressed me a lot these last couple of duals and I am officially on the Ballweg train. His shots are crisp and powerful. Ballweg dec over Dardenes

Iowa 9-0

149: Ness clearly the better wrestler and will score bonus points in this matchup. I am going with a major over Kelly but could see a fall here that kills the hawks hopes of winning.

Iowa 9-4

157: DSJ continues to wrestle smart but won't put up big points against Zilverburg. Minnesota will have a game plan against DSJ because they know its a turning point in the dual if they can hold it to a decision.

Iowa 12-4

165: Yohn will pound and pound Moore in this match. Think size will be the factor and give Yohn the decision but not the major

Iowa 12-7

174: Storley has been one of my favorite gopher wrestlers. No clue why but I respect the kid's talents and think he pulls off a big win over Evans. Evans doesn't wrestle the same outside of Carver and that is the difference maker in this match.

Iowa 12-10

184: Stienhouse is a beast and Lofthouse won't be in this match for the whole 7 mins. I think the score will reflect that he is but he never had a chance to beat him.

Iowa 12-13

197: Burak is capable of a win here as he continues to improve in all aspects of college wrestling. I see Burak pulling off a big win for the hawks!

Iowa 15
-13

HWT: Sadly Telford is up against Nelson who I don't think is very good and lets people stay in the match. I think Telford stays in the match and keeps up but Nelson has just enough to pull out the win in the third period.

Minnesota wins 16-15

Based on rankings (and I agree with these):
Iowa wins 125, 133, 141, and 157.
Minnesota wins 149, 165, 174, 184, 197, and Heavyweight.

Minnesota won't get any bonus and Iowa must get the "upset" at 165 or 174 to win the dual.

Other factors include the poor performance by Ness against Illinois and Burak's continued progression. Should be an exciting dual!

Pin how can u say Nelson isn't very good? As much as I hate Minny, this guy is a beast. He's a Hwt who will take u down and ride. A 4-1 match is a beating with that guy.

Hawks will win first three matches as we all agree. 141 will be brutle as will 84. I do see Evens breaking out of his funk when wrestling away from home and picks up a big win. I agree with many that Burak is continuing to progress and it will show up in Minny as he scores an upset. DSJ wins but nothing fancy. Telford goes down in flames. Not only has he not looked sharpe, but coming off the flu, i don't expect him to be 100%. I see an 18-16 Hawkeye win. How ever, i do see the possiblity of Telford getting pinned which would result in an 18 all tie.

125 Mcfreightrain pins thorn in 1st
133 Ramos throttles Dardanes- CD looked sick last match could still be,
141 Ballweg another good test with Dardanes, hoping a major here who knows probably like 9-7
149 Ness has pulled so much out of his back im surprised he can walk. mr ultimate funk hope he gets well but kelly could come out on top of this.
157 DSJ they might throw some other out there, major or more here.
165 Yohn has had great matches with our starters over the years is Nick Moore better than Aaron jansen? Yes
174 Evans, let me say visiting coaches call first match I would start it out right here let the young titans start the battle.
184 Steinhaus is a tough SOB
197 Schiller has moments of brilliance and so did Einstein. Burak testing his limits and excelling here i think he wins it like 9-8
HWT Big Bobby has been ill and Tony Nelson head has been mistaken for pluto. just kidding
hawks rolling 24-9
just my opinion

Since when does Evans have this big problem wrestling away from Carver? that's news to me. cuz he lost to Perry?

did i say it was a BIG problem?? i said he just doesn't wrestle the same on the road and its the difference maker just my opinion. Have you watched his duals at home compared to the ones on the road or are you simply just looking at results
