Iowa vs Minnesota Preview

This team is uninspired, unemotional, and just plain no fun to watch. Brands is a firery guy and I don't understand the disconnect between his fire and flat performances. As I have said before, maybe our coaches just don't have the ability to get into the psyche the way Gable did to get these guys going. One thing is for sure, this team and the last couple of years are not the picture of what i have always come to expect an Iowa Wrestling team to look like.
 
Pathetic performance by the iowa wrestlers again this year. Sorry team is just not a championship team it anything close to it anytime soon.
 
Honestly guys, I don't think we beat UNI. Schwab has them wrestling "the Iowa way". While this isn't necessarily a bad thing but shows how far the program has fallen.

I also think UNI would give the Hawks a run for their money. Hawks team has not been the same since Schwab left the coaching staff. He was a tremendous recruiter and technician. Right now this team certainly could use his technical expertise as the majority of Hawks attempted no more then 2-3 TD's per match. The only entertaining matches for me were Ramos and Brooks. The rest of the Hawks seemed to be happy to hand fight and push but simply cannot initiate anything from their feet. What concerns me the most is this team does not seem to be enjoying the competition and some individuals actually seem burned out. Don't think I've ever heard Carver arena so quiet for a Ia vs Minny dual.
 
On a side note.......congrats to Evans and Telford on their victories. If someone would have told me prior to the meet that both would win their matches but that the Hawks would lose the dual and I would have told them they were fricken crazy.

Yep pathetic just dominated the #9 ranked wrestler after seeing your teammate get pinned. Could hear a pin drop at Carver. Tough to step up after seeing that and I thought stepped up. He is now 33-0 inside Carver. Impressive is more like it.

I wouldn't call beating the #9 ranked wrestler 6-2 dominating.
 
M either but Thorn is a good wrestler who has wrestled him tough through the years. And he's a senior.

He controlled the match. 6-2 in a college match isn't real close. Maybe dominating wasn't the right word but it was a million times closer to dominating than 'pathetic' as the other poster insinuated.
 
re-watch the match and tell me it was pathetic

controlled all aspects of the match which I think is a dominating performance maybe score didn't show it
