I suspect that will be the case for Iowa vs Northwestern. I doubt the BTN is going to get another Iowa game the rest of the year after this weekend...and I would guess that the NW game would also be an 11am start, the OSU game 2:30, and the Minnesota game might be 2:30 if the Hawks are 11-0 at that time

No chance that OSU gets moved back to 7 if both team win their next 3 games? I would think someone at ABC would jump all over that, but I suppose a lot of that depends on what other big games there are that day.

No.......Jon Miller just interviewed the President of the BigTen Network this morning who said that the BigTen doesn't allow night games in November due to concern for the fans because of the weather.

The Metrodome was the exception - but that is now gone.

Jon just had the head of the BTN on his show this morning and he did confirm that the Big 10 has a rule that there are to be no prime time starts in November (they made an exception last year for the Iowa/Minny game because it was indoors. So unfortunately no prime time for Iowa/OSU, 2:30 sounds about right though. Too bad some of the home games couldn't be 2:30...

It is understandable with the weather conditions throughout the Big 10 in November, but how much is this negatively affecting the national perception of the conference? The lack of a championship game already puts the Big 10 in the back of people's minds for the last couple of weeks of the season, and not being able to watch games in prime time just makes it easier for people outside of the midwest to ignore the entire conference. Then we wonder why a one-loss USC team is considered a better national championship contender than an undefeated Iowa team.

It's not a dumb rule; in fact, it makes a lot of sense. The conclusion of a 2:30 game would be under the lights, anyway. The Penn State game was on November 8th last year, and that was freeeeeezing.

I find it interesting how many Big Ten games are being picked up by ESPN/ABC this year versus 2008. Its almost like ESPN/ABC is trying to keep the BTN from having too much market exposure in order to strengthen the networks position and weaken the BTN's. Any insight into this Jon?

Wasn't the Michigan/OSU game in 2006 a night game?
