What's the consensus on this game, since it's a blackout, being a night game?
Want to book 3 rooms and I'm too much of a tight ass to book Fri and Sat refundable rates.
You could shack up at Rob's house for the weekend. What's the consensus on this game, since it's a blackout, being a night game?

We always stay in Newton. If it’s a morning game we go down the day before and only have an hour drive to Kinnick in the morning, and if it’s an afternoon/night game we leave in the morning and staying in Newton takes an hour off the drive home (and only leaves us 4 hours the next day).Dont you always have to book 2 nights around ICity during home football game?

It’d be cheaper to get 3 divorces than to stay in IC.
I travel Iowa a ton and there’s no cleaner/nicer/non-sketchier per dollar hotel than the Newton Best Western. Total hidden gem.
When I was younger and my friends and I were all tougher (and dumber) we did the day trip more times than I want to count. Leave at like 3AM, drive 5 hours and lightly tailgate, watch the game, and drive 5 hours back home in time to hit the bars. I’d die now.Nice, I live in Des Moines so it is a day trip for me although it was after 2 AM when I got home after the Wisky game.
Damn Fox and their 7:40 pm kickoffs, hate them.
That would be awesome but we are WAY up in NW Iowa. Durant’s the wrong way. There's a nice (read: inexpensive) Aribnb in Durant...check it out.

He told me he wouldn't have a problem with it.
I'm looking to attend a non-con game myself. I'm down to one child playing sports after years of chasing three around. I'm going to Madison on the 21st for the Iowa volleyball game.
Sometime in November we have to drive to Saint Louis and back the same day. It's eighty miles further than the Twin Cities but takes the same amount of time because of interstate highways, about five hours one way. When I was younger and my friends and I were all tougher (and dumber) we did the day trip more times than I want to count. Wisconsin is at Penn State so that is probably a given night game.
Ohio State is at Mich State which probably has better night game status than Iowa v Northwestern.
I'd bet 11am kick unless BTN takes it as like a 6:30pm kick.

No. We've gotten a single night for the two games we've been to. Stayed at the Marriott in Coralville.Dont you always have to book 2 nights around ICity during home football game?
I’d bet on 2:30/6:30 BTN game, both of the above games will be picked up by the big networks.
No more night games.
You should stay in Grinnell, they have a new hotel downtown that used to be an old High School. Their downtown scene is pretty decent as well with the new tap room right around the corner from the Hotel. The Grinnell folks have got their downtown scene figured out, I was impressed last time I was there. Across the street from the tap room (its Peacetree's tap room BTW) is an excellent restaurant that has a tap assault each month (they have 5-6 different Iowa craft brews on tap different craft brewery each month). OK sorry about that wandering topic just suggesting you could save about 15 minutes for the drive and actually have a decent night out on Friday. I wouldn't go downtown Newton at night...that town has really hit the skids. We always stay in Newton.
