Brands said:"It's the right thing to do with where we're at with some personal things," he said. "This is not an indication in any way, shape, or form on Clark's performance. He is still the guy and will be the guy when we come back to town a week from Thursday when we're wrestling Buffalo here.
"It's better to keep Clark at home, and this shows our depth. Either guy we're good with and it's good for Gilman as well."
Lira giving up 50lbs to the guy didn't help matters at all.
That's kind of what I was getting at. I can't believe we left both guys home. Unless it was completely unavoidable (i.e. grades, school work or punishment), Brands knew this was a possibility. That's what I don't get.
So you want to risk Burak/Bobby's injury to rush them back for a meaningless dual in December? I'm happy our coaches are not as shortsighted as you.
yeah the hawks weren't super sharp tonight, but at Iowa they train for national titles not wins at Edinboro.
feel free to read your own posts. you made two comments about how it wasn't a great idea to leave them home and how you couldn't believe the coaching staff left them home w/ the possibility of a close dual. They are hurt, it's not an important dual. seems pretty obvious to me.
