Yes i understand we are down by alot, but seriously, the hawk fans here are horrible. Its like theyr only here ti watch a basketball game, not to cheer for the hawks. No one is shouting "defense" or "lets go hawks" or anything. Its like they didnt wake up this morning.
It would really help if our student section showd up.

Must be a sign of how much respect iowa bball has lost over the past 5 years. were trying to come back ans yet the students want no part in helping. No student energy means no fan energy, and its showing right now. Very very disappointing.

Teams shoot lights out against us because we play horrible defense. It's not hard to figure out.
that's still the problem with Iowa fans for year no matter who the coach has been, the fans sit on their @ss like the are at a opera, no emotion, they get mad at those that stand and cheer "its sit down you are here to watch the games

The only problem is that Creighton has been hitting a lot of their contested shots, too. We don't play good defense, but that's not the only reason that Creighton is on fire. Part of it is that they're just hot right now, and they're good anyway.
They'll cool off eventually.

To be fair, though, Kirk's pressers put people to sleep even after a good win.
"McDermott just wiped sweat off his forehead! That must have opened up the lane for (insert his teammate's name here) and oh wow McDermott is doing it all!"
That is pretty much what these announcers sound like to me.
There was a possession where McDermott did not touch the ball and was simply standing down low and they gave him credit for getting his teammate the basket and opening the lane for him and drawing attention.
I think I am going to watch the rest of the game with the sound off.
