Iowa valued as the 11th highest team in college football.

So ranked 11th, but continue to finish 25th-35th nationally? As a business man, this is not a good return on your investment...

If this doesn't prove to Iowa State fans that this is "The Hawkeye State" or they are "Little Brother"...I'm not sure what will. You are over three times less valuable...that's got to hurt. I'm sure there is an argument from them about the method they arrive at this valuation, and I can't wait to here it from ISU fans.

Large, flagship state schools dominate the (fictitious) valuations, as one would expect, with Notre Dame being the exception.

How is NW in the top 40? They have something like 4 season ticket holders, half of which are Hawkeye fans stuck in Chicago due to career motivations.

I think what you really mean is "schools belonging to large flagship conferences dominate the rankings". How else would ISU make it in the Top 50? (or Indiana & Purdue for that matter) Conference TV and Bowl money. In addition to that, it's ranking by popularity and fan-following (ie: attendance, donor support and licensing $)

I think the most surprising ranking is Kansas @ #30.

That list really starts to fall off. I'd be interested in seeing the valuation method, but still LOL that NU comes out above ISU.

There have been two variations of this list coming out list for at least a decade now. This one is based on total valuation, the other on yearly profit. If I remember right Iowa has been in the top 25 in total valuation for some time. I don’t know where it has ranked in yearly profit over the last several years.

Of the top 25 Nebraska and Iowa have the lowest population base. Nebraska has been gradually losing some of their national level, out of region interest, over the last decade, but it hasn’t really impacted recruiting. Iowa never managed to get much of a national following but is always a big game in the Big Ten. Iowa is one of the few in the top 20 not considered a "NAME" program around the country.

Nope. I was really focusing on the top end of the list and don't give a rats toosh about football programs that likely would have a real-world negative valuation.
