Iowa v OSU Game Thread

Yeah big time loser...he is only the 2nd winningest QB in Iowa history.

B/c he was the only guy on the field those years. Numbers are inflated, can't make plays with one of the most talented receiving corps ever at Iowa, has nearly all day to throw on most plays, takes unnecessary sacks, etc, etc. Not to mentioned he had one of the best D's back to back years to bail him out.

Well, now the season has finally become disappointing for me. I was thinking another 10-2 season, 9-3 at worst. Instead we'll be fortunate to see a 9-4 season, depending on who we get in the Outback bowl (assuming we beat Minnesota next week).

More than the losses though, it's the fashion in which we've lost our 4 games. We've had a lead, only to have our defense promptly give away the game winning TD drive. And then, with time to run a 2 minute offense (usually with ~2 minutes and some TOs), we...just...can't.

Truly disappointed in how this season's ended.

I will be surprised if we get to the Outback.

OSU - Wisc - Mich State - Two in BCS Last one takes Cap One

I am betting Outback takes PSU and we get left on the outside looking in.

At least this one doesn't hurt as bad. Because the better team actually won. OSU did their absolute best to give it to us, but they still perservered.

Let's not forget about special teams. Missed field goal. And massive quantities of return yards that helped them score.

A win vs. OSU would have salvaged the season. It's officially a disappointing season.

No 4th quarter clutch performances by offense or defense units.
Very disappointing.

when will this staff start to realize the current play calling on both sides of the ball has cost us games this year.

I realize the players need to execute, but our offense can't finish out a game, and that puts more pressure on our defense to try and defend the impossible.

and why can't our DL get any pressure? And then on the final drive we snap the ball out of center? Never giving our QB a chance to even set his feet. At least in shot gun he can have a chance to hit a quick route and get rid of the ball.

i'm really sick of this style of football. It's obvious that Iowa has the players to compete with OSU and other schools, it's time to start playing football and quick playing reaction football. waiting for the other team to screw up.

and on that 2nd to last drive for Iowa. You have Coker who's ran well all day, and we come straight out and pass? I know we all ***** about being conservative, but you've got a guy who just got nearly 30 yards on 2 carries the previous possesion.

Every game we do this.
