Iowa v Northern Illinois Prediction Thread

First, the purpose of the no huddle offense is to keep the defense from substituting; not to run a play every 15 seconds like Chip Kelly. And you're acting like this game is going to be played in Death Valley, ALL of these guys on both teams have played if worse conditions. Let's not act like we're going to lose this game because of the color of our uniforms..

First, I know what the purpose of the no huddle is. I am just predicting it will be as slowed up version of it as humanly possible (i.e., the most conservative version, i.e., a version that will most likely produce a few delay of game penalties).

Secondly, I am not acting like this game is going to be played in Death Valley. I know it will be played in extreme heat and humidity (possibly 98 degrees). And "ALL" of these guys have not played in worse conditions unless they have been training on the sun.

Thirdly, I am not acting like we are going to lose this game because of the color of our uniforms. Don't be foolish by making everything a black/white argument (no pun intended). When two teams are evenly matched, which these two are (and I will refrain from posting about how pathetic that is given one has all the resources in the world, and the other plays in a high school stadium), little details make all the difference. The team that pays attention to those details, and the coaching staff that takes advantage of them, usually determines who wins. Ferentz has done a putrid job in this area for quite some imho, and the fact he is putting us in black on this day is inexplicable.

I will not be optimistic just because I am a hawk fan. I am pessimistic because we have a newbie QB who wasnt good enough to take a snap last year. Our offense is new (no huddle) and Ferentz seems to always start slowly with his teams. Add to it we are playing a team with a great QB who has been running their scheme for years and they are ****** about losing the game last year, and this does not bode well for the Hawks. Saying they will win just because you want them to is the stuff cheerleaders are made of. So you keep going "Sis boom bah" and I will continue conversing with the above 100 IQ crowd.

By NCAA rules, the home team may only wear white if both teams agree to it in writing before the season starts. In light of the fact that Iowa only has white jerseys and black jerseys, Ferentz's only option is to put his team in black.

stick to spaghetti, guido.

i still think Iowa wins, but i'm not so confident in my prediction. 23-20 Iowa is what i'd change the score to. but, who the hell knows, right?

I asked Purdue's Magic Eight Ball CGI: "Will Iowa win today?"

Does ANYONE think the commander is going to let Greg Davis do what Greg does? Will we see a true hurry up get more offensive plays in on will we get the same 60 offensive plays in only do it all at the line of scrimmage?

I posted in Diesel's thread 24-13 NIU. I think Iowa's D struggles to contain the QB. Also, for me a big question mark is whether GDs offensive scheme is meshing with Kurt's slow, deliberate, conservative style of attack, and whether any of three young Iowa QBs, none of whom has taken a snap in college, can carry it out, whatever "it" is.

I also predict my ******* cable provider -- Comcast/(off to)Xfinity(and beyond!) -- will opt for the other 3:30 game and not carry this game. This is the same ******* Comcast/(off to)Xfinity(and beyond!) that so far has failed to support BTN2Go.

Hope I'm wrong on all of the above.
