Iowa v Minnesota Two Deeps: No Robinson

This isn't Lowery's first time on the two deeps, IIRC. I think he was on behind Hyde either last week or the week prior as well.

Is Bernstine injured or just not peforming? He has disappeared.

A little from column A, a little from column B. He was dinged up early this season by a few minor injuries that kept him out of action. I think that lack of reps has led to an underwhelming performance. Not sure if it's true or grapevine rumor but I heard mid-last week that he was practicing with the receivers and may be our slot guy next season. Anybody know if there's anything to the rumor?

It would be interesting. After McNutt and Davis we are a bit thin after losing Cheney, Sandeman, and DJK.

I think I read that too but then someone else came out and said they've seen lots of Dbacks warm up with the receivers in past seasons. What the hell do I know? I'm usually still tailgating at that point. cheers!

I think that another element has to do with confidence. When you get this late into your career and you're not starting ... a lot of guys start questioning themselves and then they don't assert themselves or play as aggressively as they did when they were younger. I think that that has contributed quite a bit to what has happened to Bernstine. I hope that he flushes all the expectations surrounding him from his original recruitment and actually comes out and plays his hardest come his SR campaign. He really was legit when he was younger and playing with greater confidence ... if only he'd realize that too.

At least coker will have another shot this week, until he rushes for over a 100 yards in the first half and we have to bench him because its working... and we all know what we do here at Iowa when things are working.

I think leaving Adam R in with a 30 point lead in the 4th quarter vs MSU was well worth the risk. What if Coker had dropped the rock and MSU returned it for a 28 point touchdown?

MSU has won at least two games making comebacks, NW and PU. I think Kirk may have been extra cautious after MSU scored to start 4th quarter.

Iowa needs a shake-up on offense. I just hope that not having ARob in there will make KOK be a little more creative with his formations and plays. It will suck if it just means going even more conservative, or trying to chuck the ball downfield on first down. That has proven to be a drive killer on more than one occasion. Run the 7 yard slant on first and then be in a position to take your shot and still be in good position to reasonably pick up the first down.

Oh yeah, and if JK needs to start at guard again, forget the play action and just do straight to shot gun.

Got too many nasty reputation comments regarding my pre-season opinion on this matter to re-post it here.

Do you honestly think they will get creative with formations with Coker instead of ARob.

I can tell you right now, they will do the same formations they have done all year and the past 12 years for that matter but with Coker instead of ARob.
