Hopefully they all play in the bowl game.

It’s hard to say. At a certain point his measurables aren’t really changing. He’s a high instinct player but there is plenty of tape out there on that. I think his ceiling in either case is probably the 4th round, that’s where Hooker went and he had better measurables than Stone does.I could see Stone going in the 5th or 6th round if he leaves early. I could also see him being a first team all B1G safety next year and going in the 2nd or 3rd round with a much bigger signing bonus if he waits a year. Could be a tough decision for him.

The poster said he could see that happening, and that it could be a tough decision. He didn’t guarantee anything. But you cant guarantee those things. That seems more like a view from an Iowa fan. He could also come back and tear up his knee or mess up his hip, like Tua.
Strong safety is a position that puts a lot of miles on the body in a hurry.
I remember talking to Tyler Sash down at the Insight Bowl before he declared early. I generally presented the scenario you mentioned about Stone. Tyler told me his body was feeling it. He had concussions.
The decisions aren't black and white. Each player has his own case with many factors. It's not simple.
The poster said he could see that happening, and that it could be a tough decision. He didn’t guarantee anything.
This seems like one of your hot bottom items but it didn’t seem to me like he took the Iowa fan approach at all. Just laid out a couple scenarios.
They all will be playing.
Again, the keyword is could, which is used to indicate a possibility, not a guarantee. We read his post differently and I was laying out a different scenario.
It seems like me saying I view his scenario as being from a fan's perspective, it pushed your hot button. That's how I read it. That's my opinion.
Is it a tough decision to make in this scenario?

In it, where is the downside in coming back?

I think all of us as football fans understand the risk of injuries, at least to a certain extent.
When he ends the post saying it will be a tough decision, it clearly implies that there are positives and negatives on each side of the decision, at least to me.
100% agree on that, that’s why I added to a certain extent.Again, we processed the post differently. He offered a scenario for coming back. I offered a counter point.
And as someone who monitors these boards and social media accounts and hears from a lot of the Iowa fans daily, I would not say all of the fans weigh the injury risk evenly with the desire to see these kids return.
I wonder if USC will have any underclassmen not play in the Holiday Bowl?
