Iowa still #10 in AP poll

If I had to bet on Iowa on neutral field, I'd have them between 15 and 20. They could be 5-3 just as easy as they are 8-0.

Ridiculous. How would playing Wisconsin or NW on a neutral field be a greater disadvantage for Iowa than playing them on the road???? Who are you picking for those 3 losses...North Texas????

If we can win next week we could see a nice move up ... teams in front of us have ...

#3 Clemson at #17 FSU
#4 LSU at #7 Alabama
#5 TCU at #12 OK State
#6 MSU at Nebby (long shot)
#9 ND at Pitt

I would assume he's thinking Iowa State, Pittsburgh and Wisconsin. However, Wisconsin and Iowa State were on the road, and in the case of Iowa State we completely dominated them in the second half. Pittsburgh would have been a toss up had it gone to over time, but it didn't, so saying "we could just as easily be 5-3" is pretty much pointless.

I still think #10 is a fair spot. They don't deserve to jump Alabama or notre dame yet, but soon enough. Get a couple more W's and things will look better.

I don't see Clemson losing. Florida State is overrated. LSU beating Alabama would be good in the sense that it would all but eliminate Alabama from playoff contention. OK State beating TCU would be good in the sense that it greatly reduces TCU's chances of making the playoff, but on the flip side it would likely vault them over us in the rankings so I have to root for TCU in that one. I don't see any way Nebby beats MSU. Pitt beating ND would be good for multiple reasons as we would pass ND assuming we beat Indiana, and it would make the Pitt win look better.

But they are 8-0 are they not? Just keeping winning week after week and more people will be pizzed off. I don't get your neutral field analogy though. They won at Wisconsin, at NW and at Iowa State. There are other undefeated teams who could have 1 or 2 more losses on a neutral field. Michigan State vs. Purdue ring a bell?

For me as an Iowa fan I find it hilarious. The Hawks rarely receive respect. It's been that way more years than not. As I see it, Iowa beat Maryland fairly handily yesterday and played poorly almost the entire 2nd half in doing so. Bad teams or unworthy teams don't win these types of games.

I'll enjoy this ride until it ends, thank you very much.

those teams lost football games. Notre Dame's best win is Temple, we pretty much beat three teams on that level, one of them by 30.

Give me a break. ND has done almost nothing, and they have a loss. Same with Stanford. Alabama has done what Iowa's done, but with a loss. The name of the game is to not lose. They lost. They're defenses aren't as good. They are worse teams, empirically.

The rankings, right now, are recruiting class ranking rewards. The starting positions have unduly added inertia to the current rankings. The initial playoff rankings, if like last year, will reward the power 5 teams that are undefeated, and there will be the likewise gnashing of teeth nationally like there was last year, before the AP steps in line with the playoff committee in three weeks.

Here's how I see the top 10:

1. Ohio St. - 0 Top 25 wins, struggled with Indiana, Maryland and Northern Illinois. Frauds.
2. Baylor - 0 Top 25 wins, best win is against ISU, 104 SOS. Massive Frauds.
3. Clemson
4. LSU - Could easily be 5-3, didn't look like a playoff team against WKU.
5. TCU - Almost lost to Minnesota, should have lost against Texas Tech, almost lost to K-State, didn't look like a playoff team against ISU. Frauds
6. Michigan St. - Should have lost to Michigan, barely beat Rutgers, Purdue and Oregon, didn't look like a playoff team against W. Michigan. Frauds
7. Alabama - 0 Top 20 wins, lost at a home to a team Memphis blew out. Didn't look like a playoff team against Arkansas or Tennessee. Overrated.
8. Notre Dame - Best win is Temple
9. Stanford - Lost to ******* Northwestern, didn't look like a playoff team against Wash St. Massive Frauds.
10. Iowa

Lol.

So far Iowa has the strong defense and good special teams and kickers and an above avg running game to control and win games. CJ makes his big plays and passes.

So I think the hawks at 8-0 are a solid # 10 and maybe could be ranked higher. I dont see enough of these other teams to judge. Stanford has crunched some teams since they lost to jNW so not begruding them or N Dame their spots. I think the hawks could beat both of them though.
