Iowa State's opponent (NC Central) is from the same conference as.....Hampton!

I am thinking this ISU team is higher on the talent side.

Kane, Ejim, Niang, Hogue, Morris, Long

Vs Tinsley, Rancik, Horton, Sullivan Shirley.

Tinsley was the highest scoring guy at 14.3 points a game, it was a wonder that team did as well as it did really. Their defense was better, but offensively the could have some clunkers

I guess if you look at what Hoibergs teams have done in their first round of NCAA games the past 2 years, the game might not be close. The blew out UCONN 2 years ago and Notre Dame last year. The games were not even competitive

I think the line reflects the fact that ISU did not blow anyone out in the Big 12 with maybe the exception of Baylor early in the season. People see them as allow teams to stick around.

Guess will see

But defense matters a lot in a tourney like this teams that go far are usually ones with decent defense. That is a reason I am not sold on duke doing much and will probably have them on an early exit in at least one bracket.

Don't have another thread saying that Creighton, they of the 126th ranked defense, is your pick to win it all?

This is the best part about being an 11 seed, you are suppose to loose every game you play.

Can you explain to me how exactly a team loosens a game. I know the Iowa team could sure use some loosening up but I'm not sure how a team can loosen a game. Thanks in advance.

First you get really douched up in your ketchup and mustard outfit with a smidge of navy blue, then you choose a screename that has been taken by 6 people prior.

ISU could make the elite 8, but odds are one of their slow starts will come back to bite them in the tournament.

That could sure be. This season has shown how a good team can grow cold, or a good team can be mighty, but then we've all known that all along.

ISU seems to be a team that doesn't come out HOT and on fire. They take awhile to get going and usually trail for at least most of the first half and often way into the second half too. And then they flip the ON switch and start playing basketball.

If they wait as long to flip that ON switch as they have some games in the past, they'll run into some big trouble early on in this tournament.

I haven't heard any of those fans predicting final four or anything like that, as some have claimed they have, but I could see Elite Eight... IF they have their act together from the start of the games and actually play like they're warmed up and ready to go.

And if WE get over the mental stagnation, we could go reasonably deep in this thing too, and that would make up for a lot of the disappointment that engulfed the last half of this season. Let's do this!

Actually there was a study in the past couple of years that indicated that you can hit at a 75-80% clip in Le Brackets by picking the team with superior offensive output.

I used that methodology last year and won my pool.

Fox Sports One had a Vegas picking against Iowa State in their game against NC Central, and ISU is still only a 9-point favorite.
Part of me, can see Iowa State making it to he Elite Eight, and part of me, sees them losing in the round of 32.
