Iowa scoring leader next season?

Last nights game has me looking forward to Iowa's tournament run next season. Who you think will lead Iowa in scoring, assists and rebounding next season?

I'm going
Scoring: Cook
Assists: JB
Reb: Baer

I agree, I almost put Moss. I think Moss could blow up next year. It would be nice if we could get 4 or 5 to avg around 15 imo.

Cook
JBo
Kriener, I sure hope he doesn't transfer
I think he stays also, Kriener is and will be big for the Hawks going forward. It's just going to be a very odd rotation. We would have to run a zone on defense, but imagine this next year as one of the "big" line ups JB, Moss, Kriener, Cook, Pemsl.

I don't know how much we'd see that particular "big" lineup unless Cook really develops his handles and outside shot. He did hit his 3 last night and has a good looking stroke.

If Nunge can play the 3 or with Uhl we can have some pretty big lineups that can give teams fits. I'm hoping Garza will be in the Kreiner mold as well.

White's senior year we used to dominate teams with our size with JU at the 3. Could be similar to that.

If we want to pound the ball inside, we could go Cook, Kriener, Pemsl, Garza and Bohannon. That's big. I think if JBo continues to shoot the ball like that, he and Cook could be up at the top.

I agree, I think Iowa will have a ton of mismatch opportunities next season with the 3 incoming recruits and what we already have. I think Cook will definitely develop, he's only a offseason away from making the necessary tweaks to become a superstar.

It wouldn't surprise me if Bohannon is the leading scorer next season. Pemsl, Kreiner, and Cook are all scorers and could split the points in the paint while Bohannon may wind up replacing a lot of Jok's points on the perimeter.

Very interesting question at this point. Cook is the leader in the clubhouse I suppose if there were to be a poll on it. A lot of you have mentioned Kreiner and I agree he'd be my dark horse guess. The guy can shoot. He's got nice touch around the rim too. He's not explosive or overly athletic but I really really like him. Fran put it pretty well I thought when he admitted he messed up not playing him earlier in the year. He said that Kriener made him play him with his play pretty much. Now we are seeing why. I wish Iowa had more of a penetrating oriented offense with their guards but that's not JBos strength. With penetration and dishing to all the big guys it'd really open them up for easy buckets.
I don't think next yr it'll be so cut and dry who the 'scorer' on the team will be. One game it'll be Cook, then Jbo, Moss etc etc. It'll be situational based on who they are playing etc. Jok is just a situational buster when he's healthy obviously. I'm not so sure anyone on this group will fall into that category next yr. Cook has the skills to if he can slow down alittle and increase his court awareness. It may not all come together for him by next yr. But by the time that dude is a senior if he sticks around that long will be scary.

That's kind of what I'm expecting Baer/Nunge at the 3, not sure if Kriener has the quicks to defend at the 3, but I believe he has a decent outside shot.

Cook obviously has the most upside, but he needs to work on......well, most of his game in the off season (aka, not dribbling in the post). Combine Pemsl's post moves and touch down low and Cooks raw athleticism and size and you'd have a monster. They both need to work on their rebounding though. Not sure why it's so hard to get in the mindset that "if it's in the area, it's MINE" mindset when it comes to rebounding.

Ya Kreiner is a 5, but Baer/ Nunge and maybe a little of Cook at the 3 next year is a possibility. Would certainly think those would make for some better rebounding teams.

I don't think Fran looks at them as traditional roles. If he had more lateral quickness, I could see Fran putting him in at the 3.

I think his foot speed is probably a tic slow even for a 5. If he ever gets enough foot speed to play the 3 I'd be very suprised. Think of it this way, he's never going to have more foot speed than Wagner, Cook, or Baer so he really will never be asked to play the 3.

He might play the 4 some with Garza next year because of their ability to step away from the basket and shoot, a possible twin tower lineup.

Are you just replying to agree with my assessment? I'm not sure that he has the quicks, but I think he has the shot/range.
