Iowa Receiver Challenges

why is it stupid each name with height and speed are listed seperately
each point is in its own line, clearly seperated, and just answer my question SHORT OF CHEATING, how is KF and this staff supposed to land these kids.
and there is a clear rebuttal to the remark about not recruiting JUCO'S, I WILL SAY IT AGAIN , RECRUITING THEM AND GETTING THEM TO COMMIT.. " ARE 2 DIFFERENT THINGS"!

No need to yell.

Fleming is going to play DB and Iowa could use his speed on defense just *** easily as they could on offense
speedy WR are coming
Mabin from Florida 6'2 4.4 40
Wilson from Ohio 6'2 4.5 40
Kittle 6'4 from OK 6'4 4.5 40
these players are all RS'ing this year
committed but not yet signed
Willies from Illinois 6'3 4.4 40
Harris from Misouri 5'11 4.4 40
Michell from Missouri 6'0 4.45 40
there are 2 things that they all have in common.. the 1st is they are from outside the state of Iowa,
the 2nd is they all 4.5 or faster 40 time than what Iowa has been able to recruit
they do recruit the top 100 WR's
LaQuan Treadwell 6'3 4.5 40 the #1 WR in the country by Rivals is being recruited be Erb, but shows no interest in the hawks
Cory Smith JUCO WR 4* 6'0 4.5 40 is showing interest in Iowa, from Mississippi
kinda shoot the theory about both recruiting JUCO'S or high level recruits now doesn't it..
its one trhing to recruit them its another to get them to commit,
short of CHEATING . just how are they to get these kids to commit

Strikes again! Love it.

Unless those 40 times are electronically timed, I'd put about as much stock in them as I would seeing a guy riding a moped. Remember Brandon Wegher's 4.28? Ha!

Getting WR's to come here, especially in a year like this one, is going to be difficult due to the system (which has already been beaten to death in prior posts). We like to run the ball, we really like our TE's (although it could be argued we coulda/shoulda liked them more this year), and our offense likes to shorten the game, all 3 effectively limiting a potential recruit's impact/productivity.

A majority of the problem is the quality of the players we are bringing in, but I'll go ahead and place some of the blame on the coaching. Our receivers just can't get seem to get separation.

Calm down. First off 4.5 is not as fast as it used to be. Second, who says they can really run a 4.5? Third many wr's are posting sub 4.5's and are 6'3 plus. Fourth, CALM DOWN. Fifth (my fav, always loved a good fifth) what do you define as cheating?

Cataract surgery is quite safe and affordable nowadays.

Without doubt, the nicest of all stadiums with average gametime temps of one thousand degrees below zero.

Good point. Minnesota is far too cold. Iowa's winter climate is much warmer, roughly 6-9 degrees on a given day. Thats down right tropical.

Come on Red, I want to know what do you call cheating? Since you like the numbers, there are what 120 or so D1 programs and over 18,000 high schools. So how do they search all those? They dont, they expect it to come to them in a video. Updates are needed. I am not talking cheating either. It is a business and must be treated as such.

Lol, nice job. Calm down

It is extremely frustrating to, as Jon M has shown, not have a single receiver threat on campus. KMM is a maybe and DJK + Marvin were good but not great. My question is this: If NORTHWESTERN is able to run 4-5 WR sets with consistent producers on the field, how does it come to pass that our third option this year was Shumpert (who has stone-hands -- see IA ST game and the fact he did not see the field after that) and Steven Staggs (Who NEVER SAW a single snap at WR AFAIK)????

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE????!!!! WITH SOUP AS OUR WR COACH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!!!! HOW DO OUR WR's STINK THIS BADLY WHEN jNW has 5-6 on the roster at any time that WOULD BE THE #1 TARGET HERE?????????????!!!!!!!

KF apparently doesn't care about offensive production, that's the receiver challenge.

Self-reported 40 times = "a few extra pounds" on Match.com

Maybe if you--just once--opened the mother****ing pod bay door we'd land some quality WRs, Hal.

cheating is paying the players like Cam Newton, or Bush for USC, and all those time are electronic timed from camps,, you do know what electronic means don't you
Also all those kids are True WR out of hs and don't need to be switched like so many players that come to Iowa have to be and for once they are also all 3*'s vs 2*'s.
but way to **** on something positive about Iowa recruiting,
its like you can't stand anything positive reguarding Iowa FB RECRUITING

Jon left off Terry Stross. He was like 7*s, wasn't he?

Who?
I recall a Hokk All-American phenom named Terry Strauss, maybe that's who you mean?
Kid was NFL-bound until he wasn't.
