Alabama was down in the gutter just before Sabin so don't tell me we have to accept mediocracy. I think if you did some research every one of those programs on your list has had to find the right coach at one time or another.

In the 20 yrs before Saban, Bama won 55% of their games. That's including the 21 vacated wins. 47% if you remove those wins. It takes that one guy....

I don't expect national championships. I doubt many on here do. What I DO expect is a team that can make a good bowl game, show up and be competitive, maybe even win a few bowls like we used to.. And finishing higher than 120th nationally in offense, or whatever it was, shouldn't be too much to ask, either.

This offense is horrific but apparently KF thinks it's fine since GD is coming back for yet another season?

I will CERTAINLY raise an eyebrow I'd GD is OC in 2018. 2017...He should be gone..I agree. Not a fire-able offense. Highly questionable. But we aren't behind the scenes. One more season of GD would be my guess.

Maybe you could get a few to quit and pursue more realistic endeavors.

What's your point? I played at one and coached at one. We had an all big 12 lineman I guess. But other than that, you play because you love the game. I was decent but I still loved playing knowing D3 Simpson was my best bet.

BTW- I think KF is one of the finest people ever. I would vote for him for president. But I think it's time for him to move on from coaching Iowa football.

I can't argue here. I hate the bowl run. Who was surprised it was 3-3 toward the end of the first half? I was surprised. I wasn't surprised what happened. After we got behind. We weren't built for that. We don't have the receivers for it. Does anyone actually think we aren't trying to recruit them? It's a vicious circle right now...but run and gone doesn't play in Iowa city in the late fall.
