Iowa plays at #1 OSU Sunday

Below is Iowa State's away from home schedule for the entire season per Kenpom...only listing top 50 teams.

#10 Oklahoma State
#14 Kansas
#32 Baylor
#42 Kansas State

I'm not saying Iowa State isn't good. I'm saying there's no way of knowing how good with this schedule until the NCAA Tournament.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that Iowa State is going to win the Big 12.

woodbury will have 2 in the first 4 minutes. Both whistles will come while his feet are stationary with his arms straight up. For good measure they will throw in 3-4 of these same calls on McCabe/Oleseni, in the first half also. Repeat in second half. One of these 3 will foul out after a quick whistle following a timeout. If you watch closely Craft will have been standing right next to said official b*tching right before the timeout.

The funny thing is that, even after being whistled out of the gym, hawks still bring it down to the last minute with a chance to win. Hopefully fran's return will provide enough of a spark to get over the hump.

btw.... big 12 sucks, Kansas sucks, and isu will reap the benefits. Really wish we could have destroyed kansas in the Bahamas. Just to have a comparison point with isu.

A big reason why I think ISU wins the Big 12. I think it's between them and OSU (really not high on Kansas though you would think with their talent they'll be better at the end of the year)

So am I but will really be sold if they win at Oklahoma in an obvious trap game this weekend. There schedule sets up very well and they are very good. However, they are not going to be battle tested on the road going into NCAA play. This may be a problem. It may not be a problem. Time will tell.

Side Note - To hold myself accountable I will note that I previously predicted Iowa State will go 3-5 in the 8 game stretch which started last night.

It's going to be interesting to see how we play against a quick, athletic defense. This is no secret but we will struggle in our halfcourt offense. This sucks but this game (and the remainder of the B10 games) will be officiated using a close version of the old rules. This is not a good recipe for the Hawks.

We need to do two things. 1) Play tough and be stronger with the ball because what should be fouls will not be called. 2) Hope our defense shows up for the full 40 minutes. Luckily OSU doesn't have the same offensive weapons other teams have so that should help our D a little.

BTW... I am not complaining about old rules vs new rules or the officiating. I'm just stating how it is going to be. Since everyone knows that going in, adjust and play the way they are calling it.

Kansas will somehow end up doing it again. Officials will bail them out if they have to.

I'll set the over under at 2 on how many fouls Craft ends up with. I'll also set the over under at 30 for how many fouls he actually commits.

+1, PC. There's still something slimy about Thad Matta, too. I can't put my finger on it, though. Maybe I'm just sour grapes about anything fOSU.

Outright or in the B12 tourney, bcl20? KU hasn't put together the young team, yet, but I think you are right that they may not get that done this year. If KU does not get their (basketball act) together by March, it could be ISUs to lose. We'll see.

Can't wait to see craft in the officials ears at every stoppage. We will probably lose to OSU sunday. I would love to see us blow out these teams the second time around at home.

NOTHING would please me more than a road win at stinkin O$U. Not even beating the clones.

Outright. One game elimination tourney's are always kind of a toss up.

No way we're within 8 of OSU at their place. Same prediction for MSU as well.
Can"t put it all on officiating, but if this game is evenly called, I don't know how you could think thisn OSU is no better than any of the 3 teams we lost to. If you remember, we did have 15 point leads in those 3 games. We can hang with anyone. If we again build a lead like that, we are a couple of shots away from making those 20+ point leads. Tough to lose when you lead by 20. Question is, can we finally put our collective foot on the opponent's throat.

I hope this happens at OSU. Early enough in b1g play to be a huge confidence booster going forward.
