Very simple -

An envelope with a letter - in it you dictate why you have to be at the game and why you can't be in the kids swim meet.

You also tell her how much you understand how family is so important, and in particular swimming which is why you've taken the liberty of booking a winter holiday to Disney with the kids.

But you also explain that she might still be mad, so you've arranged for dinner and a hotel downtown so that the two of you can also properly make up.
