Iowa opens as a 7 point favorite over Illinois

I'm not getting too confident. I expect a close and hard fought game, but this is one that Iowa really needs. Not too worried about Rice as he's always been a big scorer on a team that STILL loses despite it. Go Hawks!

I had a very bad dream last night. Illinois won 63-62, on a last micro-second three-point shot. Woodbury and Olaseni were a combined 1 for 8 from the FT line.

Please help me snap out of this.

I'm not worried. Enjoy the game. Stressing all day won't improve our chances of winning. I hope this helps you "snap out" of it.

There weren't many friendly faces at OSU, MN, MI or NE. If the team comes ready to play it won't matter who is or isn't in the seats.
 
7 seems like a lot. I think ILL wi try to play a slower tempo and keep came in upper 50s, lower 60s.

I think if I were actually a gambler I might even look at the money line and take ILL and try to get a bigger payout.

This is just feels like a close game between 2 teams needing a win.
 
Iowa has scored at least 70 points in every conference win. We have scored 63 or less in every conference loss. So I'm going with 71-57 Hawks.

On the flip side... Illinois hasn't scored more than 66 pts in the month of February. I expect them to really try to slow the game down. We'll see which team has more success in controlling the pace.
 
I hate Illinois. We need this win badly. Even though we are a fairly good team we've done too much losing to inferior teams. No more of that.

All of this is known to everyone but I'm just posting some rah, rah ****.
 
Illinois remaining games...NW, Neb, @Purdue. An Iowa win tonight will cripple Illinois NCAA chances. NW and Neb won't do anything positive for their resume and @Purdue is either a loss or too little too late. HUUUUGE game for both teams tonight

I don't see Illinois beating Purdue at Purdue.
