Iowa OL Wins Joe Moore Award

Aaron Taylor of CBS Sports, last week, was raving on the radio on the Iowa offensive line against Nebraska.
He also mentioned that the same 5 guys never played in back-to-back games.

Here's what I love......all the whiney b!+ches on here whose team just won an award and it gives you another opportunity to b!+ch about your "favorite" team. What a bunch of losers! Lol Get on board. Celebrate your team. Oh, last I checked the people who voted for this award know their head from their ACE when it comes to offensive lines couch potato experts. Sheesh. Loser doesn't quite cover it. gx1qha.jpg

I took a wild stab in the dark and told my brother tonight that when I checked out Hawkeyenation reaction to the O line winning the Joe Moore trophy there would be a number of posts critical of the O line and probably their coaches. Guess I was right.

I found the selection process fascinating. Apparently, the judges, who were not sports writers or talking heads with minimal knowledge of the game, took into consideration a number of issues that are consistently ignored when the internet judgement machine begins to do its work. Take a look at the number of times starters were called on to play out of position; take a look at the injury list. Take a look at the experience of the starters and how well they performed given their youth. Take a look at how tough it must have been to get any consistency out of an O line that faced these challenges. Consider the fact that Iowa had 1,000 fewer yards in the passing game this year than in 2015 and factor in the response by defenses that they would only have to try to stop the run game. I guess you can argue that the judgement of the "experts" was wrong; but, it would be hard to read the mission statement for the trophy and then say that our kids did not fit the bill.

Isn't the adage jacks of all trades, masters of none? Instead of a trophy?

There's a lot of people on this forum who would make great Nazi's. They would never question Hitler, cuz he is there leader.

It's sad that for millions of Americans the word freedom means the duty to be a blind follower who never questions anyone or anything.

That really is idiotic and an insult to men and women who sacrificed everything so that people might be able to think critically, as well as the right/obligation to think for themselves.

For me, my allegiance is to the program. The way to destroy the program is the same way to destroy a nation. Turn a man into a God who is above all questioning.

Well, if he/she were a god... I know you're talking about Kurt Ferentz.

Oh for God's sake, Josh. This is an internet forum on college football. But, if you want to talk to someone who is a blind follower of almost anything, you won't find me to be a good candidate.

Having two excellent running backs with completely different running styles, who could alternate at will didn't hurt anything either.
Running backs aren't shit without a line, ass-hat, lol. Figured you'd make some totally ignorant remark. BACKS TO NOT MAKE LINES LOOK GOOD, LINES MAKE BACKS LOOK GOOD. And anyone with an inkling of football knowledge knows that....which explains why you don't.........you're a DISGRACE to coach Fry's name and I would appreciate it if you would quit using it. If he ever read your posts, he would want the same thing........

This is for JoshBrown...
You let us know when you have a worthwhile thought. No, wait, we'll let you know if it happens. Go over to Ames where they recruit the same kids. Breathe the same air and drink the same water. Or out to Lincoln. Maybe a little North to Minneapolis. Maybe a little east in Champaign. Where else would you like to travel today sir? All great destinations and plenty of chances to find success. Let me know how your new team is doing.

That was for the previous poster who compared supporting a good football coach and team to being a Nazi. Lol Freedom of speech. Really? No one said you aren't free to speak. When you say stupid things don't be butt hurt when people recognize your stupidity.

This is a nice award...but...if our o-line was the best in the country...we must have had the least receiving talent on the planet... QB was a proven entity from the prior year... Puzzled...
