Iowa maybe the worst team ever at finishing games, but Woody saved the day.

And I will give Adam props for actually knocking down 2 free throws in OT.

Probably going to get our arsess kicked againt Nova, but it is Woody's day.

I agree, needed someone to step up, everyone else was doing their best to lose. Nice push off to get the rebound!

Nova is going to win by 30.

Only this team could make a win feel so awful.

It was a brutal game to watch. But no Iowa win feels awful.

We shot about 20% in the 2nd half, with many open looks...t hats brutal.

But...win. I'll take it.

Having him on this team, and his improvement from the free throw line is critical for this team. This allows him to stay in more when other teams may foul at clutch times. He was great today. I think he will be great against Nova too and help Iowa win that one on Sunday!

Woody bailed out Gessel who should NEVER be in ANY close game in the last 3 minutes of a game....I cannot remember ONE clutch shot he has hit in four (4) years. He has shattered more backboards on out of control layups then Darryl Dawkins ever did on dunks!

I couldn't help but laugh at the Fran interview, what do you mean they were taking good shots? WTH do you call that last shot by Gesell?

Nobody is moving, Mike has no f*cking choice but to do something.....I hate it that he has his hands on the ball. For Christ's sake I'd rather have Clemmons w/the damn ball.....geesh

Please think about what you're saying here. Nova will not kill the Hawks. Iowa has not lost by double digits the entire year. They may lose, but they won't lose badly.

I think the quote from White Men Can't Jump can apply to this game. "Every once and awhile, rain can shine on a dog's ***".

Still amazed though Iowa actually won a game like that.

Fran has officially lost me . He's in his fifth year four seniors starting three of which are his recruits from day one, and much of the time they look like they've never played together.

not terribly impressed with his coaching

Great to see Woody get the big moment though

Iowa was for one for their last nineteen three-point attempts. Jok was two for his last twelve from the field. Together, Jok and Uthoff were twelve for thirty-six from the field. Plus, missing free throws near the end. How the heck did the Hawks win?

They will if, if, Iowa leaves them open from the perimeter. Not sure who is going to contain their 6 11, 245 pound center either.

If Good Iowa does not play a complete game, Nova by at least 13-15 points.

Man I have been a HUGE critic, and will admit...many of the same things reared their ugly head today (Mike taking last shot....again....when will they learn?) But hey....it's tourney time...EVERY win is amazing. Just survive and advance....and I for one will take any first round win over being MSU or Purdue right now....they're heading home.

So no....I don't think this win felt awful at all....and like I said...I'm a big Fran critic. Now isn't the time to worry about it....we will have all off season to examine every decision!

Now....it's Friday evening, the Hawks advanced to weekend....time to celebrate! And go Panthers!

------In the North Carolina game last year Mike made some huge shots at the end.

Sheeesh dude....I was on a roll.

They only turned the ball over 3 times, which is incredible including the overtime.

Yep, I watched it five times and every time Woody got away with a push off. They could have waved it off and Temple would be shooting the winning free throws. HUGE BREAK and huge mistake by Woody but he got away with it.

Not terribly impressed w/Uthoff throwing up 3'sometimes or fade aways......especially when there's 20 seconds left on the shot clock, no patience

Go Panthers indeed.

ill feel better about it tomorrow, but it's still late season Iowa. I was hoping against logic to see the January Hawks come back. But it's not happening.
