Iowa maybe the worst team ever at finishing games, but Woody saved the day.

Go Panthers indeed.

ill feel better about it tomorrow, but it's still late season Iowa. I was hoping against logic to see the January Hawks come back. But it's not happening.

Yeah I think partially it's shot selection too...when we were up about 10 every player (especially you Mr. Clemons) just started chucking up shots....That part was frustrating. Iowa has to learn to take it to the hole and finish....it's like they make a few and start to think every shot will go in. We needed to turn that 12 point lead into 20 but came away empty there for a while.

After watching that replay a few times i guess technically it was a foul but I've seen it let go in the course of normal play during my time watching basketball. It would have been a week call plus I'm still not sold Clemmons fouled anyways.

That, and Uhtoff continuing to fade at the end of close games. It's foolish to think he'll grow a pair over night. Clemmons basketball IQ continues to baffle.

Woody bailed out Gessel who should NEVER be in ANY close game in the last 3 minutes of a game....I cannot remember ONE clutch shot he has hit in four (4) years. He has shattered more backboards on out of control layups then Darryl Dawkins ever did on dunks!

I almost feel sorry for MG. He was with the ball late in shot clock often again in last 3 minutes, like a grenade about to go off in his hands he launches errant shots. Glad this brick landed in his teammates hands.
He really stinks as a shooter and should not be asked to do so. I blame Coach for having him in the game in crunch time. Where does it say your starters have to all be in at the end of the game. Uhl as giving them a 3rd option that actually had to be guarded.
Hard to celebrate a win against a 10 seed that shot 40% for the season.
Glad they won. This helped them not have the worst finish to a season in school history as I look at my SI mag cover and recall they were rated #3 in nation only a month ago.

This team is maddening for sure. I think they've been in the lead with five or less minutes to go in nearly all of their losses. It's a two man team, and when those two guys are missing shots Iowa just can't score. The offense totally stalls and Gesell has to drive and force some crap shot over their bigs. Gesell had a decent shot two or three seasons ago, but it's just not there anymore. Thankfully, Iowa got paired against a not-very-good Temple team. Man, I was yelling so loudly at the end of regulartion and in OT my voice is coarse. I feel tired as well. It just shouldn't be so tough to close out games.

Jok missing not one but two game clinching free throws, followed by the dumbest foul I've seen as an Iowa fan, had me thinking we would lay down and die in overtime so I will give Iowa a lot of credit for not being deflated. This whole going ice cold in the second half of games is getting realllllllllllly old. I genuinely don't understand it. We were getting good looks too and still couldn't get hit anything.

Seriously, i think this is the best moment of my Iowa basketball life. I was mentally done when that went to overtime.

I got the police called on me for some reap. Someone should let nerds know it's tourny time.

Not terribly impressed w/Uthoff throwing up 3'sometimes or fade aways......especially when there's 20 seconds left on the shot clock, no patience

I liked them early when they were going in, not as much when they weren't

A couple were a bit early in the possession, but I'm actually ok with it most of the time.

While no win is bad this one made me motion sick and nauseous. The stupidity of experienced players baffles me and I think everyone knows who we are talking about. The basketball IQ is surprisingly low for this team. Bad long quick shots all day and obviously Fran has green lighted that crap or the players just aren't very bright. Players continue to choke at the line when you need them, Mike Gesell continues to be so bad from the field that the D doesn't even guard him any more, and the standing around on the offensive end is enough to make you pull your hair out. And these are painfully obvious observations from a guy that only played HS basketball. The last 2 seasons are as good as this train is ever going to get under Fran. Do we continue to be happy with that forever? He did pull us out of the Lickliter era of stone age basketball but it doesn't feel like we have the difference makes recruited that will give us anything but some NCAA appearances and maybe the occasional UHHHHGGGGLLLYYY win. I must say Temple should be embarrassed that they couldn't close the deal today.

Why would you not want them to take wide open 3's? They can't make a layup, might as well shoot for 3 points. And they weren't getting a whole lot of calls when they did take it inside.

Great points. Temple was being allowed to be very physical without fouls being called. And we continue to lead the nation in missed layups.

ClintonTroll...when you have to find clips from 20+ years ago to try and make your point you end up making the other person's point.

Why?! When you make 7-30 chucking shots up early in the possession it becomes stupid. INSANITY def.= Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. And it's not like they were rimming in and out Jok was hitting side of the bankboard. I do agree with the layup comment but the sadder thing is when you need to make FTs you can't.
