Head coach's earnings (and I use the word loosely) per win.

500K per, y'all.

Even Brad Childress couldn't bat an eye at that.

This isn't true. Mack Brown earned approximately $1.02 million for each of Texas' five wins this year. Jeff Tedford earned approximately $836,000 for each of Cal's three wins. Mike Locksley earned $750,000 for New Mexico's lone victory this season. Turner Gill earned approximately $667,000 for each of Kansas' three wins. Lane Kiffin and Urban Meyer each earned approximately $570,000 for each of USC and Florida's (respectively) seven wins. Mark Richt earned approximately $519,000 for each of Georgia's six wins.

Notes:
Tim Brewster was scheduled to make $1 million for Minnesota which only won one game that he coached, but I'm not sure how much he ended up making after he was let go.

I was unable to find salary information for Robbie Caldwell (Vanderbilt won 2 games for him this year) or Larry Porter (Memphis won one game for him).

Will Muschamp (Texas' "coach in waiting") has a base salary of approximately $900,000, so he is "waiting" to earn $180,000 per Texas victory.

Also, Brad Childress was scheduled to earn $4-$5 million for the Vikings this year. If we take the low number and note that he only coached 10 of 16 games and then assume that he only got paid for games he coached in and earned no money beyond this (a very unlikely scenario), he get a prorated salary of $2.5 million. Under these circumstances, Childress earned around $833,000 per Viking victory, well over the amount Coach Ferentz earned per Hawkeye win.

Great post by Jumper. So, the initial post in this thread was wrong. Notice how, when emotion and opinion take over, the facts take a back seat.
