michigan? Kansas? Do you think Kansas State wished that Snyder never wallked away? Do you think Iowa State wish they never showed McCarney the door? what about Boston College and firing Jeff Jagodzinski for interviewing for the NY Jets job after 20-8 in two seasons at BC?
I could go on, and coaching changes certainly effect some less than others, but it would have a Kansas-like effect to our program.

Mississippi St is better off for hiring Mullen. FSU is better under Fisher than they were under an 80 year old Bobby Bowden. West Virgina now has a much better head coach than they did in Bill Stewart. Erickson was no better or worse than the man he replaced at ASU.
So no, that's not really an argument for not changing coaches at all. None of those schools, except for Florida which didn't have a choice, is worse off for changing coaches.
