Iowa, Iowa State Extend Football Series

With a non conference schedule of n Illinois, western michigan, Missouri state, and Isu, not sure why Isu would need to be dropped. Isn't there room to drop a Mac team to add a quality bcs team?

The B10 is going to a 9 game sched. That means ISu would be our 10th BCS conf. opponent, and your suggestion would mean having 11/12 games being against BCS conf. level opponents. This would not be an advantage for the Iowa program when jockey for rankings an bowl eligibility. There's a reason most BCS conf. members do not schedule more than one, or even *any* other BCS conf. opponents for non-con games.

Ironically, the same reason above is why the deal may be worse for ISU. Rhodes, through year 5, has never won more than 3 conference games in a season. Since the B12 plays a 9 game sched already, that means that ISU must win all 3 noncon games for a shot at making a bowl. That really puts a big spotlight on their only BCS conf opponent, Iowa, and makes it essentially a must win game for them each year.
