Missouri initially barred schools that were virtual only from having Fall sports. They just changed that today because the majority of the schools that are virtual only are in St Louis, KC and Springfield.
Fall sports are a go in Missouri, but I havent heard of any Illinois kids coming across the rive, but that may change now.
Private schools in Missouri used to have a 1.3 multiplier to raise them up in classes. Now we have gone to a history model of success to move the private schools up and down. If you win districts and state titles for a few years you start moving up classes. For example, Incarnate Word in a girls school that has won 5 out of the last 6 titles in class 4, they would move to 5 and so forth. Incarnate Word also plays a national schedule, and has had girls go to UConn. They are in my daughters former schools class. The school has 850 kids in the school and are limited to our district. IC can get kids from all over the state and other states as well. Last season, during cross country, my daughters team missed going to state by one point. The team that beat them was private and had a girl leave home schooling and join as a senior and she finished 12th in districts. She lived about 30 minutes from the school.
Private schools should be in their own association separate from public schools.
