Iowa Football Notebook: Hawkeyes Talk NFL Decisions

I can see both sides of the Stone decision. He’s undersized by NFL standards so that’s always going to limit his draft stock. He may be able to lift it up modestly with a strong senior season. He’s going to need the right situation to stick in the league if he goes now or next year.

If he leaves, he’d be missing out on a chance for another run with his Hawkeye brothers and a chance at some personal awards. And, like I said, maybe tick up his draft stock.

AJE and Wirfs are going to raise their stock in pre-draft workouts. They’re both freak athletes who will shine at the combine. They’ll both go in the Top 20, IMO, with a chance to be Top 10.

Heck. I got a four figure X Mas bonus and I consider THAT life changing money.:)

I'm updating our basement surround system so I can hear these damn football and basketball games better!

Its all relative isn't it?

Hooker's singing bonus would pay off every dime of debt I have and there would still be a bunch left over for every house upgrade I'd like and then some.

Not if you're married.:)

Wives see to it that you NEVER get out of debt.

Both top 10????
Besides qb's across the league, you do realize that LSU, Alabama, Clemson, OSU, Michigan ect all have guys declaring?
I doubt AJ or Tristan go top 10, much less both of them.

Hockensen went 8 and Fant went 15, which are both very high for TEs. What Rob said was that they are both going to test incredibly well, which I don’t think anyone doubts.

Many of the mock drafts have had one or both of them top 10. Pass rushing and OTs are both highly valued by NFL teams.

It’s not unheard of to think one or both could go top 10, not to mention he said COULD.

I know.
I'm just saying in 2019 the top 10 picks came from 10 different schools, with 5 different positions. That's an elite group to be selected in.
I'm not dogging on our guys, but if you think AJ goes higher than Chase Young, I have to wonder what football you have been watching. Maybe Chase doesn't declare idk, I'm just saying that the odds of Tristan and AJ going top ten are slim. Last year 2 DE were taken top 10. 3 in the top 20. 5 DT's taken top 20. 3 ol regardless of position ,taken in the top 20.

So it wouldn't surprise me if the scale tips to Ol this year. Now where does Tristan stand in available Ol declaring?
I'm not being an asshole, they are talented, I've said it before and I will say it again I think they can both do better with another year.
I have no horse in the race and no matter what they do, it won't affect me financially. I'm just being honest.
