j/k, I think you're somewhat of a link master yourself, IIRC.
I sure hope the LB corp can step up their play, because we'll be needing it. An improved D-line and healthy LB's (fingers crossed!) should help a lot.

These articles are kind of dumb to me. Yeah they make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, but weren't we letting it rip last year? If only we had thought of that last year huh. Maybe there is a new enthusiasm perhaps, but define it accordingly then.

IfIrc, everyone had boners after Phil Parker's comments last season (implying more blitzing and DL stunts to compensate for youth and lack of size). We all fell in love with Davis after his comments last season about what a weapon CJ was going to be. Meanwhile, last fall, the front 7 on D were consistently swallowed up by the fray and / or wiffing and CJ was barely an afterthought.
In the LB's case, it's one thing to scheme to do it, be taught to do it, know how to do it and believe you can do it. It's completely different to be physically capable of doing it. The comment about "using their hands very well and reading very well" is complete fluff; there's 3 years' of visual proof contradicting it. In CJ's case ... I don't want to hear a single word from Greg Davis about anything regarding his offense or personell.
Articles like these, along with adjectives and phrases like "aggressive", "weapons", "he / it gives us our best chance to win", have rang hollow for 3 seasons. Show us.

Big deal Iowa's LBs are undersized and slow.
Due to their small stature they lack the ability to shed blockers, Morris. It could be due to injuries, but his last two years have been less then stellar. If his game and the dlines game doesn't improve we will be watching a copycat season of last year.
Hoping there is growth in all aspects this year.

Agree. Every team in America is "letting it rip" right now. Hell, I let it rip just last night. Wife was none too pleased.

I would say kirskey is a little undersized but hitchen a and Morris are probably typical lb size at this point. I did think that last year Morris loomed like he put in a little weight and it really made him waddle. I may be wrong but I thought he really didn't move that well last year.
