Iowa Coaching Succession Plan

If somebody gave me an opportunity.

Sure seems like a very weak sauce statement. Why don't you go get that opportunity Mr. Parker instead of waiting for somebody to give it to you? (Probably why you're 55 and not a head coach yet.)

I don't know about you Fryowa but I want a head coach that has a bit more drive towards a goal he has in mind.
Are you saying BF fits that?

Personally, I don't know how BF speaks about his goals or his drive towards them so I can't say if he fits that or not.

In Parker's case I just have to take the man at his word and what he has proclaimed publicly.

If you read the full presser, he goes on to speak passionately about how much he likes the "coaching" aspect, helping others achieve their best possible performance level, and his appreciation for the fact that the head coach becomes more CEO and less coach. So he clearly has that conflict in mind. I also think he has incredible loyalty to his players and to Iowa in general.

Is the fact that he has not jumped ship for a head coaching position worrisome? I think not, but I could see how you would make the argument.

I agree. Personally I would rather be a coordinator than a manager or CEO. Yeah the money isn't as great, but it seems like a much more fulfilling job. Plus I don't like a bunch of politics and being head coach, you better believe that is a big part of the job.
It's different being a teacher than it is listening to a bunch of yo yo's trying to tell you something, while nodding and thinking wtf is this person talking about.
That's why argue all you want, but KF is a good head coach. The hospital, the facilities all while trying to maintain a fairly successful program. I think he finally put the right people in the right positions to win some ball games.
You can't ask for much more than that.

I don't know, I think it'd be fair to ask for more than 1 top-25 finish in 8 years...
Definitely need to up our rankings.
I won't argue that a bit.
I think that, and I hate to say it, that consistency is what we are looking for.
Coaches, players and fans.
Everyone is frustrated with the ups and downs.
Yeah you will have some ebb and flow. But let's just worry about now. Let's win the west.
One step at a time.
The thing about that OSU game and past successful teams was this. When you line up across from them, they made darn sure that no matter the score, no matter the wins and losses, you were going to know that you were in a ball game.
Twins went 16 innings last night and trust me Cleveland knew they were in a ball game.

I love the video clip and I love the Pacino line but what's with the shitty music?

My question is will Iowa break through the 7-8 win ceiling - break out and stay there - will it happen before Kirk retires?
