Iowa at #25 in Athlon Poll

Athlon has six B1G teams in the top 25 pre-season poll. Four of our first six games will be against ranked opponents (ISU, MN, OSU, PSU), including three on the road. That may be the toughest first half schedule of any team in the country.

That's what I thought also. There must be some leftover red kool aid in the punch bowl from Nebraska last year.

All of these polls are just for talking and gaining some hype for pre-season. They don't mean anything until at least week 5-6. The last poll is the one that really counts

So, two teams that haven't beaten us in 6 years are ahead of us in the preseason polls. The law of averages are working in their favor...but Kinnick may not be friendly to ISU. I'm not really understanding that placement of them at 17?

Do they just replace their front on defense with all league players every year? I know you have Purdy, but keeping him in the pocket and making him throw the ball downfield has worked in the past. He's got an average arm at best.

He's very good at passing the ball downfield despite not having the strongest arm.

There is talk CFB may start late and non-conference games will be cancelled. If that is true, ISU will score as many touchdowns in Kinnick as they have in each game since 2014.
