Iowa(-9) over ISU

I can't get a feel for this game at all. I am trying to avoid getting over confident about a hawkeye victory based on what I saw this weekend.


It is no secret what Iowa is going to do, it is also no secret what type of QB(s) and teams give Iowa fits. Is ISU that type of team? Maybe, down the road they will be. Right now, they have too much to fix in a short period of time.


I just do not think ISU is capable of scoring more than 14 points without help of a bunch of TO(s).
 












NIU must be (happily?) frustrated coming excruciatingly close to beating both Iowa and the aggies the last few years. They're obviously doing some things right.

If Rump plays how many snaps can he go? Maggitt won't play...Having Neal playing on the inside has to scare the crap out of you. I look foward to Darks starting and dropping at least one pass.:D
 


As per the Clown fan site, they are concerned about their offensive line. Which would really be bad with Iowa's emerging front four.
I think Iowa will match up and dominate in most areas of the game.
 


Save your money and stay away from this game. ISU will play Iowa very close,as usual for a rivalry game. I have Iowa winning by 24-20,but not overly confident. Turnovers will dictate.
 


Looks like Vegas has finally caught on that this game has been pretty tight over the last decade+.

I actually think -9 seems about right...I'd stay away.
 


I'm not sure what to think about this line. It seems like Vegas is begging fans to take Iowa with that line. Do they know something we don't? I remember last year the Iowa/AZ line was higher in Iowa's favor in the beginning but dropped to near even just before the game. We all know how that ended.
 




You guys all read into these lines WAY too much. I know they have insider type of information, but this early in the season it's a coin toss on spreads. It wouldn't shock me if we won by 3 or 30. Getting beat would be shocking. There's my line.

it's not a coin toss what so ever. it is statistical analysis and trends. do you think sports books stay open because they get lucky on coin tosses or because they almost always know something that the casual fan does not?

Agreed. Far better Iowa teams have gone into Ames against far worse ISU teams and not only didn't cover but lost. I wouldn't touch this game.

He'll drop more than that. Remember when 2009 when ISU fans were pimping Darks over pretty much any receiver on the Iowa roster?

This old saw again. Unless you think the 2001, 2005, and 2007 teams are/were all better than this years edition, this is a false statement.

Typically, the games in Ames have been an Iowa blowout or close win for Iowa State. 2005 was the anomaly.
