"Interesting" list ....

Roger Craig was the first name that came to my mind. 3 time Super Bowl champion.
Maybe Nile Kinnick?

I'm probably overlooking someone. I'm not an expert on this topic.

Don Perkins was who they chose ... out of Waterloo

Craig not in the NFL HOF is a big time joke considering Aikman and Namath are in'

Roger changed the position .... was the 1st to start at FB / HB in the Pro Bowl .. 1st to score 3 tds in a Super Bowl ... 1st to go 1000 / 1000 in the same season ... member of the all decade team of the 80s

Valid choice in my opinion. Roger Craig was the first NFL player ever to rush for 1000 and have 1000 receiving yards in a season. It's only been done once since (Marshall Faulk). 3 Super Bowl rings and 4 Pro Bowls. Almost 8200 career yards rushing and 4900 receiving. Hard to argue with that selection.

Roger Craig was from the Quad Cities. Was he from the Iowa side or Ill side? I suppose I can google it.

Iowa side. He's a Blue Devil from Davenport Central... as was his brother Curtis Craig. Both went to Nebraska, back when they were relevant.

And if they are using rushing yards as the measuring stick, Craig had almost 2,000 more career yards than Perkins.

And, of course, if they are talking about the best running back in the state how can they leave Ed Podolak out of the discussion?
