Interesting Joe Schad Tweet RE: KOK

I have a feeling that 18 year olds wouldn't be running to play for a team whose cordinators are pensioners who are either morbidly obese and/or missing limbs.

However, if we want to hire a fat guy, maybe we can get Mangino or poach Charlie Weis.

Hey, what's Chuck Long up to these days?
Nice way to throw someone under the bus there. Some people find guys like that inspirational. Just saying. Chuck is OC at Kansas.

I read last night on the PSU boards that Tom Bradley is going to likely interview for both the Pitt and Uconn positions....I have to think he'd be a higher priority choice for UConn than KOK, however, he may end up at Pitt the way it looks right now.

Your "feeling" is offensive and beyond stupid. Our pensioner with the missing limb, as you describe him, seems to get a lot of great recruits to come to Iowa.

I think Ferentz is leaving. Both of his coordinators maybe gone by next season, the people that he spent his entire time with as a head coach here plus other things that went on this season makes it seem like kinda a natural time to bow out. Add in Stoops out running around in hawkeye gear and it makes you wonder.

Commence attacking me.

Yeah, seeing as how his son will be a JR on the team next year (and he has already burned his redshirt), it would be a perfectly logical time for him to step down.

If KF is going to leave, it will be for an NFL job, and I don't see KF as the kind of guy who would leave prior to seeing his son graduate from the team.

Him leaving can't hurt all it can do is be the same.

I'm not so sure on that, and this may have been mentioned, but it could affect recruiting. For example, I know KOK has a relationship with the DeMatha coach (Coker, Kuoandjio, and Cooper) and that is a relationship I'd like to have for the next million years or so. I'm just saying that I doubt the play calling changes much, so careful what we wish for.

Duh. Good point.

The St. Louis Rams' OC makes Ken OKeefe look like a bastion of creativity and flair. So at least we aren't stuck with THAT guy.

AND has said publicly that Iowa Football IS his life. They'll have to carry Norm PARKER out OF Kinnick on a stretcher, hopefully MANY, MANY years from now.

Suppose there is a little discontent among the friends? I noticed KOK with an arms raised to the sky motion on 4th and inches during the bowl. I felt that he was a bit frustrated with KF not going for it...I was too.

Wrong. He was upset there was no measurement, so that it gave no time to decide on a play. Play clock was roilling, ball was spotted very close to first-down marker, and a time-out for a measurement would have stopped and reset the play clock.
