Instant Stupidity

Who's more stupid? The "stupid" podcaster or the person that spends 27 minutes listening to said podcaster.

There wasn't a big difference in qb play because both qb's were running for their lives every time they dropped back. There were exacty zero other games this year where that was an issue. Even given that, CJ was clearly better yesterday.

The fact Jon hasn't bothered to respond to the OP's opening salvo speaks volumes.

Of what, I am not sure.

I don't mind sitting back and letting people vent...then after a few days, check back in and see if there is any crazy to take to the curb. I did find some of that.

Also CJ doing what he did against Tennessee's backups doesn't really matter since he was throwing to a walkon receiver.

The fact that his podcast barely mentioned CJB, despite him playing 3/4 of the game, was all the response I needed to hear.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that's because this program has bigger overall issues to talk about at this point than which QB starts.

The QB situation is certainly not in the top 3-5 things wrong with this team. If I were to mention the biggest glaring weakness - which has somehow drawn a blank from complaining message board wizards - it is the defense. they can't get a stop when they need to. the personnel looks undersized and slow - and i don't know if iowa has any immediate fix for that.

The glaring issue is that everything is broken with this program right now. Coaching, preparation, development, starting lineup, defense, offense, "special" teams.

Our kicker was pretty good this year, so that's nice.

Uh, when they're producing equal results (as you say they are), yeah. Do I stick with the guy who is what he is, or do I go with the guy who gives me at least that much and has a much greater chance of improving beyond that? That's a no-brainer.
I don't know how many ways you have to state the same explanation in order for bob to understand it? You can not dispute the above argument without looking stupid.
CJ has more physical gifts, period. Neither are producing great results, but CJ probably slightly better. Jake has 2 years of being a starter. CJ does not. Who should you start?
If you answered Jake, well, you can't fix stupid so I am not going to argue with you.

The problem is, the current staff has not shown they can develop a QB. JVB got a lot worse. Jake seems to be about the same, so what will CJ do (if he stays)?

Absolutely untrue. You can't tell me poor QB play didn't help lose the Iowa State or Maryland game. The defense was fairly solid at the beginning of the season and Rudock didn't do much to help win those games. Outside that last drive against Ball State he really didn't do a lot that day either.

QB most certainly was a big reason why Iowa lost as many games as they did. Maybe not so much against Nebraksa or Wisconsin, but the other games mentioned did feature poor QB play.
